I'm no psychoanalyst but I have never seen somebody so prepared for his team to screw up. It's like he has father guilt for what happened with Belichik and now he subconciously needs to lose badly to make up for it.

The Giants were (are) an extremely talented group of players. However, the meathead faction of their lockerroom ( Shockey/ Tiki) made the whole less than the parts.

With the exception of Coles, it doesn't appear your boys have too many meatheads.

He's still railing on about the inexperience of their O-line... "these guys knew each other for about 30 minutes!" Don't know if that's an exageration, but he's really hammering on how poorly our DEF did against this basically rookie O-line.

You can't really argue against it... there's no excuse.

I'm glad Francessa shares my opinion that the Jets need a big tall physichal WR.

Anyway after calming down from yesterdays game I would be willing to give Mangini ONE MORE CHANCE. But this is it as far as im concerned. They have to beat down the Dolphins, knock them out of the playoffs.

If I was Mike Tannenbaum I would tell Mangini to beat down the Dolphins and then we'll talk.

We haven't been able to pressure any QB all year long, not just this O-line of backups.

My thought was that he lost his edge when he went on the Sopranos. He was a celebrity and not a coach. He is a young guy. He tried to balance home and work. Almost impossbile in that profession. (Look at the personal lives of some of these guys). The first year (and first TC) he was a maniac.

I heard an interview with an NFL assistant coach -- I cant for the life of me remember who -- who said he once sat in his car in his driveway for 10 minutes at 4 in the morning because he could not remember if he was going to work or coming home.

    Dear Eric Mangini,

Thank you for contributing to building the team's talent to a potential SB caliber team. However it seems you have your head stuck so far up your own ass, that you cant take the time of day to think of how to coach them. You and your croonies Sutton and Shotty can take a hike. The often deferred to Westhoff and Tannenbaum can stay, but you sir cant coach worth a shit, so pack your bags and get the fuck out. Enjoy watching this team flourish under a new head coach, just dont kill yourself over it. Im sure your at least a nice guy.

    Sincerely,

    Scik

Thomas Jones should have gotten the ball 35 times yesterday. A 3rd grader could figure that out. The D always has trouble in snow getting their footing and pushing the O-line. Theres no way Seattle could have stopped us had we gone for it on the fourth down on the first drive. A 3rd grader could have figured that out. The FG attempt that wasnt, well yeah a third grader would know that a kick that was good from 55 has a good chance at being good from 50. Mangini is a fat, arrogant Connecticut dick. A typical New England cunt by who I am surrounded by everyday of my life. He is a fucking ball boy. Fire him today.

I saw a Mangenius commercial for the first time all season after the Tennessee rout and I thought "uh oh".

If Mangini can fire up the team and we win next weekend and our first playoff game, all will be forgiven. But I do agree we need a new DC. And maybe a new OC.

talent level is not superbowl potential.....give me a break. firstly, we have no QB-kind of important.

We have a terrible D-line. one guy, Jenkins, who I might add has sucked for a month now!

Our LB corps is below average against the run and not a one of them can drop into coverage.

We have Cotchery who is a solid number 2 receiver. thats it. We have nothing else at that position.

We have one cover corner and one overrated safety in Rhodes. Thats it for the secondary.

O-line is average. The right side is terrible. We need both guard and tackle over there.

    Superbowl talent? no.

Mind you , this does not mean Mangini isnt one of the worst coaches in the league because he is. He still cannot gameplan or make adjustments or identify weak spots on his own team or opposing team. He cannot motivate grown men to play football either.

    Francessa:

He's talking about the times of the games ... Jacksonville... "the Jets will not know the results at game time...."

Do I think NE is going to lose to Buffalo? No. Would I be shocked if they did? No.

"Can Mangini motivate this team on Sunday? Can he get through to them? But the Dolphins, they're making the plays... they're making enough plays to get the job done."

A caller wnats to know, which is the abberation? Is the abberation 8-3 or is it 9-6? Francessa: "The Jets were the #2 scoring team. But Favre should never have made the Pro Bowl. But the defese... every week they give the opposing QB extremely high ratings..."

I am willing to at least give him that chance. Hey, maybe he'll be visited by 3 ghosts this week and coach his ass off to the Super Bowl.

"I can understand a football fan not liking the way Mangini acts. Mangini is not connecting with his team right now... he stands around, very conservative, very low key..."

"You wnat your coach to have a feel for the game... understand the rythm... understand when you need a change... when to gamble... great coaches have a FEEL for the game"

"This year, I have not seen one of their coaches have a FEEL for the game... for the game and for the team itself... there is a reason to believe that he will become a good coach, but I want to see what happens this week... otherwise, I would go shopping. It all hinges on what happens with this Miami team....."

In other words, he's saying if the Jets come out flat again this Sunday, Mangini ought to get the axe.

Why would Romeo ever want to come here and serve under Mangini? Having come straight off failure, he's going to go work for the guy who worked under him in New England? That's like a double demotion. Plus, does he really want to get wrapped up in all the Pats-Jets, handshakes, gameday kisses, sign-stealing, wire-tapping, everyone-hates-everyone drama?

Romeo would do well to find himself a nice, comfy college program, where he can hide out for the next decade.

Romeo is sucking it up with the Browns, everybody knows who ran the pats defense and it wasn't Romeo.

A caller (an attorney friend of Francessa's) is calling in talking about the Jets' inability to make adjustments at the half. He also says they haven't shown "character."

Fran: Inability to bring pressure, really "have hit the skids"... lack of fire... from the players to the coaches... nothing good the last few weeks... I think Mangini's job is on the line... have to see what happens this week.."

Fran: "Some guys are not cut out to be head coaches... look at the Weiss thing... we thought MAngini was going to be good... but he is a VERY young guy... people want him finished as a HC here... but he could be better in teh future... would defintely get back in the league... probably as a coordinator... "

With 7 Pro Bowler on this team, we shouldnt be far off. This team is underachieving, and you clearly missed the word potential when referring to the "potential SB caliber" team. He built this team pretty well, and there aren't as many glaring holes as you may think, just underachievers.
