Everyone can believe what they want but the team does not show any heart. The coaching staff may come in with a game plan but they never seem to adjust to the reality of the game. On defense, they look lost and opposing QB's could send a text message and still complete the pass with the lack of pressure. On offense, our receivers never seem to get separation, don't know if it's lack of talent, speed or coaching but they don't seem to threaten defenses. As for the running game it has its' moments but not at the level you would expect with the high priced talent brought in for the O line. In summary, I think it's Mangini and his staff they don't seem to bring the team ready to play in meaningful games and if you look at the sideline the players seem to know it. I've prattled on long enough "same old Jets".
Mangini has not shown confidence in this OL all year. Even when the running game was going good, he refused to run on 4th and short. What was the point in spending all this money on upgrading the OL when you don't utilize them? The Giants had a bad stretch with running offense for a couple weeks and now look at them. They stuck with it and didn't try anything fancy or counter to their core team strengths. When have we ever run a straight sweep play with Leon on the edge, guards and center pulling? Every run play is some nuanced counter play up the middle. My beef is that our run game has no variety. Our play action is non existent since Chad left. Seems Favre could care less about selling it.
Who cares? The credentials on his resume "Belichick's ball boy" and that was enough to get him a job. He's a douchebag and not HC material
I don't know about over but it set a bad tone. For me it was a no-brainer--Richardson is an all-pro FB who was finally being used in short yardage. And even if you don't make it, you introduce our D to their 2nd team O for the first time inside their 5 in the snow. Maybe one of those early turnovers we got would have led to a TD that way. Instead he opts to pin them back later in the game when we needed the points more desperately and their offense had gotten their mojo going. It just made no sense at all.
You say this coaching staff can plan for the big game. How can you compare the giants that went 3-3 in there last six games to us they were playing GOOD football ... MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better then we are right now, dont compare the two.. then go on to talk about 2002.. Does that make any sense ? So wait let me get this straight.. Ok we cant gameplan for the seattle seahawks, playing with an average qb a temp agency o line and a bunch of slow people at wr, but were going to gameplan for the colts with manning, addai, harrison, wayne, and dallas clark.. You sir are a gem...
In '06 the Jets only played 4 games against quality teams and only won one of those games, and that was playing the Pats after the bye week. And Chad was healthy that year and set a personal best for total yards, though he broke that this year with a MIA team with college WRs. With the Jets Chad was 3 for 3 making the playoffs when healthy, I think this year he's gonna make it 4 for 4.
