There is a lot of talk about us moving down to the #2 spot to select Leinart. However, since we acquired a second first round pick I haven't heard of any rumors about us moving up. What is realistic for the 4th pick. Do we demand 2 1st's. (this year or next). or do we do a first and a second. I am just wondering what it would take for some team to entice us to move out of that spot.
A first, second, and likely 6th round pick (all in this year's draft) would probably be what we'd trade down for. However, I think with the 4th spot in the draft, you're in a position to grab the ABSOLUTE best player available and I think that's what the Jets should do rather than moving up/down.
Only trade down if you are (a) assured of getting aplyer you really like anyway (trade down 4 spots with 4 players you love on the board) and (b) we get next year's #1 and later pick this year. If Mario is on the board, that extra pick becomes a round 2 before I even think about it..
Too many variables to really discuss it. For those that can say "I'd trade down for this" it doesn't really shed any light on anything unless you explain: a)who are we trading with? b)what player are you hoping to capture? c)Then finally what package of draft pics do you require? Just saying you want a 1st,2nd and a 2nd from next year can mean many different things if you're getting those picks from the niners instead of the steelers.... Personally, passing up on Dbrick, Leinart or Williams is ridiculous and since one of them will be there at 4 I say we take who is left....but if you tell me what player you want and at what draft spot I can theorize what is needed from that team to trade our pick.
