Hey, if we're on a winning steak don't change anything. I actually like Brian Custer on SNY and put that in my sig as a joke when people wanted everyone fired, but I'm not changing it now. You guys are stuck with my Gastineau avatar for the forseeable future, too.

Seafood was right but for the wrong reasons. If Parcells and staff (BB included) were coaching this team, we would be 13-3 with BF--at least. We've had a soft schedule and little injuries and played a lot of 2nd string qb's. No doubt BF would have been successful under the 1998 CS.

Now, take Vinny and put him on this team with this CS--he does no better that BF did. This CS sucks and makes everyone look bad.

I didn't give a reason, it was just my gut feeling. There is still an outside chance to salvage something here, but it won't approach what we did in 1998 with Vinny, which was the point. It was a loaded prediction, really, 12-1 and the AFC Championship game is a pretty lofty bar to shoot for. But yeah, if we had the 1998 Brett Favre, that would have been even better.

Vinny also had Keyshawn and Chrebet who were way better then Coles and Cotchery.

Favre is awful, he's not bad he's awful. he costs us this season. You can blame the coaches all you want but Chad immediately off 2 shoulder surgeries led us to the postseason just 2 years ago and we had alot less talent then and Chad is leading a team w/ half the talent we have to a div title this year.

A month ago everyone was telling us how we were better than the '98 team, had a better QB, better WRs, better D. Colec and Cotch are both better than Chrebet but not as good as Key. The difference was in '98 we had a great QB, in '08 we have a terrible QB.

Keyshawn in the red zone was huge, we'd have had 7 on the first drive yesterday with him. But Coles and Cotchery for the most part have been good, so has Keller. Guys were open yesterday, Clowney was, Coles was, the ball just wasn't landing anywhere near them.

You are completely ignoring the coaching staff difference. BB versus Sutton. Was it Charlie Weis? vs. Shotty. Parcells vs Mangini.

No QB could win with this team--a HOF throws 31 passes for 137 yards in this offensive scheme! Even if BF is over the hill, this is preposterous. BF threw 6 tds earlier in the season when the O went 4 and 5 wide.

You put normal human beings in a no win situation and they will screw up. Mangini has shown himself to be a bully, and a stupid one at that. Maybe Brett has mentally quit because of this--its possible.

No QB could win w/ this team?:rofl2: No QB could win w/ our '07 team, plenty of QBs could win w/ this collection of talent we have which is probably our most talented team since 1998. We won w/ basically the same coaching staff 2 years ago w/ half the talent.

You disagree that we won 10 games in 2006 with a rookie coaching staff, no RB and two rookies on the OL? Was that team better than this one with 7 Pro Bowlers? (Six if you don't count Favre)

Of course I don't disagree with that--how could I since its a fact!

I fully agree this team is better than '06 and even had superbowl possibilities (although not high probability). You take the 98 CS and put them together with this squad, with the schedule they had, and the number of 2nd string QB's we played against, and we're 13-3 no problem.

I was very up on this team. I just don't see it as BF making the difference. I see it as the CS fucking up everything including BF.

And I will go so far as to say that we would not have done any better with CP, or even Tom Brady or whoever else you want to put in as QB. What QB can win when our offense is to run up the middle on 1st down, try for a 2 yd pass on 2nd down, and constantly being faced with 3rd and long.

It gets even worse inside the red zone. What QB can win when there is no option of throwing into the endzone from the 20 and he has to dink and dunk his way in.

What team can win when our defense is hopelessly outpositioned and continues to rush 3 guys, and your HC has no faith in his players and benches good players if they get a holding penalty, or doesn't get his most explosive player on offense more than 3 touches a game?

The idea that because EM had a good year in 06 does not mean he had a good year this year or in 07. He is a terrible HC now. Why he went so sour--probably because once he had some success he was afraid to lose it. Now, he has lost it utterly. Thats what happens.
