I Know There Are A Thousand Posts And Im Not Sure If This Was A Thread Allready...but All We Need Is Two Scenarios Out Of 3 Games...i Think There Is A Great Possiblility Of Jacksonville Beating Baltimore Or The Bills Beating The Pats...we Only Need One Of These Along With A Jet Victory....give Me Your Opinions...i Know You All Feel The Season Is Over, But Would You Be Excited If We Sneaked In...tell Me Your Thoughts
Oh for the love of God give it up. I know it hurts to admit that the Jets are eliminated from PO contention but just accept it. It will make things easier in the end.
espn say no and yes basic theory -- jets win/miami loss/balt loss - -makes a 3 way tie at 10-6...i believe based on that it comes down o conference record nd the jets would take that over Balt These rules would apply: Three or More Clubs (Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.) 1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the three Wild-Card participants. 2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.) 3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. 4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. 5. Strength of victory. 6. Strength of schedule. 7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. 8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. 9. Best net points in conference games. 10. Best net points in all games. 11. Best net touchdowns in all games. 12. Coin toss.
God dam why is it so friggin complicated. This division winnning and you clinch playoffs is bs. Example: Cards come on.
To tell you the truth, I don't understand why it is so complicated...Im just asking for a simple answer without all the scenarios....its either yes or no
I believe so since it would be conf record -- if it were a 2 way tie we would lose out but three way changes the method and it would mean we get in at 6 and would face the Pats (assuming pats win) i hate having hope
I trust NBC, so yes, Jets are in with win vs. Miami and Patriots or Ravens loss. With a Ravens loss: Jets At Patriots Wild Card With a Patriots loss: Ravens at Jets Wild Card With a Ravens loss and Patriots loss: Dolphins at Jets Wild Card??????
Both the Jets and Ravens are 7-4 in the AFC. if the Jets win and Balt loses, the Jets would have a better conference record.
