good job woody. you spend all of this money in the offseason. get an overrated old quarterback to just make money in jersey sales. and now you honestly expect you die hard loyal fans to spend 20,000+ on PSL. go fuck yourself man i wounldnt spent a dollar to watch the same exact shit every year for the jets. same exact thing every year for the jets. i am not even that upset because im so used to this every season.
Woody Johnson is a nerd geek with $$$$$ he knows jack shit about football. Leon Hess is turning over.......SCREW YOU WOODY YOU DICK.
Actually, I'm okay with the off-season moves. It was risky, but at least he's trying. Without Favre, Jenkins, Faneca, Woody, Pace (who was pretty effective early in the season), we'd probably be right back to 4 wins again. At least we felt like we had a chance this season, unlike the feeling of indifference we had last year.
Yeah I honestly cant blame Woody or Tannenbaum for the money they spent the result of this season was due to a lack of execution not talent
the whole reason why they spent this money was because they wanted to win NOW so that he could justify his outrageous PSL. try doing it now when 90% of your fans will now be rooting for chad and the dolphins next week. know they actuaally deserve to be in the playoffs
I disagree. Chad would have won 10-11 games with this unit. Faneca is good, but the Steelers are getting by without him and that huge pricetag. Woody is an out of shape center/guard playing his weakest position because he's too fat to pull on running plays. He stopped caring the day he signed his big contract with Detroit. Jenkins is a stud and was money well-spent.
Its gonna be pretty hard for Woody to justify those PSL's now isn't it.. I'm convinced the Farve move was simply to generate both buzz and interest in the Jets. He needed star power and thought Farve was it. Woody's biggest challenge is going to be talking Farve into one more year. I don't see that happening but ya nevah kno..
Cmon, you know Woody was hoping Farve would be the opening day QB when the new Stadium opens.. As it stands right now, he might have to discount those PSL just to get them all sold..
I don't fault Woody for spending the cash. We brought in some great talent. However, Woody should be shitting his pants. He's bilking people with this PSL nonsense (PSL's in a SHARED stadium=thievery). I wouldn't pay an effing dime to watch this coaching staff fuck up basic football decisions. I suspect I'm not the only one.
Worse still, if you're Woody Johnson and you just gave your GM and coach a blank check to pick up all their own free agents and still missed the playoffs. Meanwhile Kerry Collins leads his team to home field through the playoffs. . . . . . . . why would you ever do that again?
I miass that feeling of indifference. I really do. It's so much easier to be a Jet fan when they just flat-out suck. It's years like this where you have a mediocre team masquerading as a great team that really drive you to drink.
Well seriously, the strategy does not work. You can add free agents to a great team and not hurt it but you can't use them to build a great team. Never have been able to either. So hopefully Woody is getting a close up look at why spending $100 million on aging and middle of the road talent is not the way to go.
The Jets sucked so hard today the sides of my TV caved-in. What has Woody done to EARN those "highly-valued" PSLs? More non-championship seasons? Jets management are bigger crooks than Madoff. Jerks. To think I actually thought this team had a shot this season.
Woody wants a new stadium and new luxury boxes to entertain his buddies as long as he doesn't have to pay for it. So what does he do? He gets the sucker fans to pay for it by artifically increasing expectations with some high priced signings. Jet fans, you just got PUNKED!
They are getting what they deserve, they got Favre to sell jerseys and PSLs and I'm sure they feel like mission accomplished.
The bottom line here is that if Johnson brings in yet another no name no experience useless pos like the last two then he still won't win and he still won't sell his PSLs. Tannenbaum has to go and Mangini has to go. It's really funny to hear people say Tannenbaum did a good job. He bought the people Johnson told him to buy and he hired Mangini. He drafted a CB when we couldn't stop the run. Great job.
