It's funny how people discover that we do not have top flight receivers once we lose games. Here's a bit of news LC and JC were not great before the season started and they will not be anytime soon. I'm not one to get on the coaching staff but these past 2 games fall solely on their shoulders, specifically the offensive coachig staff. We've managed to lose 2 straight games with our starting RB averaging 7.5 yards a carry. How is it possible you ask? Only 26 f*cking carries in these 2 games!!! We have to run to set up the pass. Not the reverse.
Maybe it's time to give clowney a chance, he is the fastest wr on our roster. It wouldn't hurt. And they still have on the roster, at least use him in a game.
He's been beastin it up but where still not executing on D and our Receiver's are running in quick sand. That has to change if where gonna win out and make the playoffs.
It's no secret we need to commit to the run. Everyone has been saying it all week. This team is built to run the ball and stop the run and that's what you need to do to win in December -> January. Schottenheimers play calling is once again unexplainable.
when the solutions are beyond obvious on offense, and the OC does not do anything to make it better, its time for a new guy.
I don't get to post as much I would like. I posted the following immediately after the game last Sunday. I logged on today and didn't seen too many threads about what has been our obvious problem these past 2 games. just a bunch of stuff about our WRs and firing Sutton...etc. Just thought I would mention it again. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=39255 12-07-2008, 08:22 PM #1 legler82 TheGangGreen.com Fanatic Join Date: Jan 2006 All I have to Say is

I figure if there was a school for football coaches the first thing they would teach you is to run the ball until the other team stops it.
This doesn't make any sense. If you were successful running the ball and then the success ended the most likely explanation would be that the defense had adjusted and was focusing on the run. That would make passing easier.
if you stop running to pass because the stopped the run, they are going to know you're passing. It will be obvious. Your logic is one the Jets would use - keep running until it gets stopped, so then go pass all day and hope they don't figure that out..... maybe the answer you are looking for is balance??
We only had the ball for 19 minutes! And half of that we were two scores behind. We had a number of opportunites that we didn't cash in. I still don't know why when we got the gift of a recovered onside kick that we punted from their 38. Why not go for it on 4th there. Nothing to lose at that point. Plus Keller needs to make that catch. We ran the ball twice on the second series on 2nd and 2 and 3rd and 1 and got stuffed. We threw for 7 in the next series when we needed 8. What ever happened to rolling the QB out on 2nd and short or 3rd and 1. Give us options. It worked down by the goal line. If we're going to use shotgun on 3rd and short, put a RB behind Favre to keep the defense guessing and occasionaly use Play action. Also all but 2 of Favre's interception come from the left and right sideline. Throw the ball in the middle of the field where the zones are softer. Green Bay made a living throw over the middle of the field and still do. I think Coles and Cotchery can get open with dig routes, slants, skinny posts, comebacks, whip routes, crossing patterns. Send Leon and Dustin on seam routes. Or better yet have Coles and Cotchery clear out the middle and have the tightends and Rb's follow with delayed up routes. The fly route and corner routes are the easiest routes covered. Stop using those. Screens are nice, but not every series. They are making this far to complicated than it needs to be.
Agree 100%, I would also like to see some PA passes. We line up with 2 backs and run. When we pass we go to shotgun. Just by personal the D knows what we are doing.
Yes, against the 9ers we abandoned the running game way too early. HOWEVER, when the defense can't get the 9ers offfense off the field, and the offense has the ball for less than 20 minutes the entire game, its pretty tough to establish a running game. The offense is fine, the defense is far from it.
It is impossible to establish a run game when you don't try. I understand they didn't have the ball much, but they didn't even make an effort to establish the run game. 3 runs in the second half?? WTF is that?
