Why do we sometimes see Favre launch this bombs and there's no Jets WR on the screen at all?... I feel as if we still have QB / WR miscomunications out there...and I figured by now those should have been ironed out.

There is something going on there for sure. The Jets have been successful running simple pass patterns like slants, screens, comebacks, etc. When the pass routes get more complex and deeper downfield, communication is HORRIBLE.

Cotchery and Coles have NOT been on the same page with Favre. They have given up on deep route two weeks in a row now. Cotch this week and Coles last week.

I don't know about you, but if we do not win our division and miss the playoffs, I don't want to see Favre next season.

I think those are giveaway throws just to keep the defense honest.

The playcalling is just bad, we have the tools to be great, the only real problem is age at LB and DE other then that we should be good, I mean the most optimistic thing I can say is Mangini and co. are just trying new things and experimenting, but its costing us, so its probably not true, but maybe he's getting teams to underestimate us in the future, maybe he felt these games were expendable, who knows. This team is pretty deadly when its on, and the offense racking up points gets the defense playing harder, I dont know, all and all once they get their shit straight and call good plays we can be back to good form.

He won't come back. He'll find another team or we'll be responsible for his retirement.

Is it because Favre sucks at throwing the deep ball and our receiver's can't get open down field?

As much as you knock Pennington's arm strength he threw a pretty deep ball with nice touch, Favre just throws it as far as he can and it get's ugly....

i think our coaches outsmart themselves once they find something that works.

I didn't get to see the game yesterday, but I just watched a clip of favre's int in that game and I noticed two things.

Favre still has a hellluva arm, that thing really went far down the field.

Coles did not give on ounce of effort to catch that ball, or at the least try to knock it away from the defender.

Now for comparison I'm a packers fan, and yesterday the packers had at least 2 or 3 deep throws that were caught. Now obviously they were great throws and great catches, but the big thing was in all the cases the receiver had some seperation from the defender, which never seems to be the case with the jets wrs.

our recievers have been taught to be pussies. they will always break off the route for a nice ten yard gain because they have been trained to do it for years. favre is used to having guys who will go for the big play before breaking off a route. on sunday favre launched what looked like a beautiful pass to cotchery. sadly cotch had slowed his route down and looked like he was getting ready to break it off and come back to the qb. favre doesn't play like that, but its what our recievers know.

Why not? He'll be even better next season, and the chemistry will be leagues better then it is now. In fact, a daresay a favre lead offense NEXT seasonw ill be much more complete then this season.

He'll be 40 though. I think a lot of it has to do with age even this year. We really need to develop our own guy. Draft a guy with height, an arm, and accuracy. Look for good mechanics. Even if the accuracy is slightly off, if you have the height, the arm and the mechanics, the rest can be coached.

We instead usually get noodle arm midgets.

Who's a noodle arm midget? Clemens is the same height as Favre.. and him and Ratliff both have strong arms.

Clemens is a midget, and CP was the noodle arm. Don't let KC's listed height fool you, if you see him next to Favre, Favre is taller.

Yeah that's weird, I noticed Keller's listed as 6'2 too and he's a good 2 or 3 inches shorter than Favre.

That sums it up,I have never seen receivers quit on routes like the Jets receivers do. What the hell is up with that,Coles is the worst. He should be benched for his half assed attititude. Get some receivers that run decent routes and get some seperation and don't give up on Brett and you will see the full potential of that "old mans" deep ball.
