The leading rusher in the AFC coming into the game. The man tied for the most single season rushing TD's for a Jet ever. The man tied for the most single season TD's for a Jet ever got 10 carries today. Washington only added 1 rushing attempt. Why aren't the Jets doing what got them to the top of the AFC East anymore? Was it working too well? Are we trying to trick people? This is unacceptable.
Mainly because we were playing from behind a lot in the game, and if you haven't noticed Brian Schottenheimer sucks ass. If the rumor is true and MArty goes to the Browns, I pray he takes Brian with him
We never had the damn ball. Though we didn't do much on offense at all, this loss isn't on the offense.
they were not behind by more than a td till the late fourth quarter the score did not dictate the playcalling. Giving Jones 10 carries is plain unacceptable. Favre obviously was not going to get it done , but they kept the ball in his hands and we kept going three and out. The offense was pathetic today, schottenheimer was predictable with his playcalling and did not involve Jones who has been our most consistent player.
I know it makes you feel like your on crazy pills. Oh wait I know lets throw a predictable 2nd down screen pass to fucking nowhere when TJ is averaging over 5ypc. Where is Paul Hackett when you need him?
Completely, totally unacceptable. A travesty of good football. You know who knows it? Thomas fucking Jones, who was emitting fumes of silent rage on the sideline throughout the 2nd half. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear a "Just give me the rock" comment at some point this week. I'd be glad to hear it. It looks to me like as far as our offense is concerned, we're winning or losing with our running back from here on out. Leon, Favre-to-Keller are big weapons on O, but the best and most solid thing we have to rely on is the work of Jones, Richardson, and our guards.
I wouldn't have been opposed to throwing it so much if we actually threw it beyond 5 yards. Favre had I believe it was 22 completions, for just over 100 yards. That is not getting it done.
when they were doing this earlier in the year i posted about it, then we started running as much as we passed and won 5 in a row... now they stop running the ball and start losing again. i dont know but it appears to still be the same, the more you run the ball and the better you run the ball the more you win. i really dont know WHY they decided to not run the ball today but i know it was probably a bad decision. then again sf has a horrid pass defense so i guess instead of doing like we did against oakland and the chefs when they had piss poor run defense and we decided to pass the ball maybe we actually went after their weakness.... guess that didnt work out too good either. maybe we just need to play at least decent teams every week.
They dominated the time of possession and we were always in catch-up mode. They also loaded the box quite a bit and really begged us to pass. Right after that great drive where TJ stuck it in the endzone on that brilliant run, they went on a long drive and scored. Then we had the kick return called back and we were in a whole. We went three and out there and didn't get the ball back until it was a two score game past the midway point of the fourth quarter. This loss was on our defense. We couldn't get them off the field. We let them convert almost every third down, hold the ball for nearly 40 minutes, and drastically shorten the game AND limit our possessions.
I was out today during the Jets game and couldn't believe you guys lost to the 49ers. I went to ESPN.com and checked out the box score and saw that Jones only had 10 carries and Washington 1. I assumed you guys were in a big hole the entire game or something. Looking at the play-by-play I saw a tie game with a little over five minutes left in the third quarter and not another run the rest of the game. The playcalling was as curious as it was during the Kansas City game. Beating the Titans showed that you guys are capable of beating any team in the league (congrats on that by the way). The last two weeks leave me scratching my head. I hope you guys turn things around soon.
Schottenheimer wants to be seen as an offensive genius. No one gets that reputation from running the ball.
After the Tenn game the Tenn DBs said they didn't come into the game expecting a short passing attack. The Jets won't take anyone by surprise like that again. Even the nfl.com preview video said the Jets were going to throw short passes against the Niners.
the Time of Possession was 2:1 in favor of the 49ers. that had a lot to do with it, along with the fact that we were down late in the game.
We had the ball for 20 minutes and trailed the whole game. Didn't have much room for clock-chewing balanced offense today because our D couldn't cover your grandmother running a double-move.
