perhaps in the pre 2nd wild card era And if it's never happened and if it's going to happen...it's going to happen to us.
Baltimore Colts in 1967 finished 11-1-2 and lost the Coastal division to the Los Angeles Rams. The Denver Broncos missed the playoffs in 1985 when they went 11-5. The Patriots and Jets got the two wild cards. Cleveland got in with an 8-8 record.
Except it already happened. And the Jets were the ones doing the knocking out. Now just stop with the poor pitiful me stuff.
I just love how Atlanta could get in over Dallas. I mean, Dallas was the team whose owner/coach in the offseason said "Get your ring finger ready." Atlanta was the team with the rookie HC, rookie QB, and 1st time starting RB. The fact that Atlanta could get the 6th seed while Dallas doesn't get in at all just makes me laugh. And if it really happened I would piss my pants.
If thats the case i wouldn't mind facing Baltimore. There Offense isn't that good and Flacco is a rookie who's been incosistant but has shown some great abilities. If we can get by that Defense that's been a bit diminished we win and big.
I'm rooting for the Broncos or Cardinals to get in at 8-8 or 7-9. If you use the points Against scenario in the linked too they both come out 8-8. The Jets also don't make the playoffs in that scenario.
It looks like a Ravens @ Jets, Jets @ Steelers, Jets @ Titans scenario is entirely possible. Those matchups are arguably the best for the Jets. Assuming, of course, our offense stays alive through all three games.
That would be ideal, besides having a first round bye. i think we match up well against the Ravens and we already beat the Titans. Let's hope we can get revenge in the division round for that '04 game against Pitt! Fuck Doug Bryan
I think the Jets match up better against Baltimore than the Colts. Flacco has good mobility and can make some plays with his arm, but the pass-happy Colts and Peyton Manning could have a field day against the Jets' porous secondary. The Ravens don't have the WR talent to single-handedly keep them in the game.
Interesting little site to play with. Scary to realize we can lose one game and miss the playoffs if the Pats win out.
As much as I don't want NE to make the POs, it looks like they probably are. That said, I like this scenario. It gives us a home game against them to slay the demon and go riding high into Pittsburgh. It also keeps Indy and Denver in the Titans side of the bracket. If we can beat Pitt who we match up better with than Indy or Denver we could be facing Tenn again. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoff...=01050104&15=05010455&16=01410511&17=05054404
Arizona won't be so efficient in the cold. Buffalo is not as good as the Pats. Jets are losing 1 maybe 2. For your sakes, I hope it is one. I hope both teams finish 11-5 and both get in. Would not be shocked if Pats burp and miss out
