While putting us in second place in his rankings, he made a subtle crack about the New York Jets being a "Jersey" team. Mind you, he also included the Giants in this, even more proof that he absolutely hates both New York teams.

    2. New York Jets (8-3). Biggest day in the history of New Jersey sports: The Jets vs. the Giants in Tampa ... WITH SPRINGSTEEN AT HALFTIME.

Well, he is predicting that we go to the Superbowl. He can say the team is from New Guinea if they make the Superbowl for all I care.

I hate to admit it but there's a small part of me that wants this guy to give us a little credit. but im disappointed yet again. Please if anyone has the pleasure of meeting King, do me a favor and kick him in the nuts.

Right, but it's an obvious affront to New York fans everywhere. Yes, we know our team plays in Jersey, but it's still a New York team. No offense to anyone from Jersey or anything.

I always hear the "New Jersey Jets" shit from retarded Buffalo and New England fans, and Peter King proves once again that he isn't an exception.

You do know King has lived in Montclair, NJ for years & raised his family there. He talks about being a NJ guy often in his column. So I don't think his statement is derogatory in any way. He thinks of the Jets & Giants as his local teams.

We always get that crap about NJ but how come know on calls the Redskins the landowver, MD Redskins? Dallas doesn't play in dallas(they currentyl play in irving and are moving to Arlington), the Bills play in orchard park, they always talk about the Pats as a Boston team whent hey play in Foxboro.

That is definitely not true. The guy was raised in Boston and is a die-hard Pats fan.

That being said, the Jets do play in New Jersey. It's just a fact. I don't see what the big deal is.

While there are rational explanations to explain his use of NJ, it most likely exposes once again his animosity towards the Jets. But that fat bastard will get his someday. What good can come of causing millions of fans to hate you?

Also, he tarnishes the SI brand with his bias--not that I have had much respect for that rag anyway.

Peter King's mind: "Shit, the Jets are good. What can I say about them? David Barrett was bad on that interference play, no thats not good enough. Hmm. Oh, they technically play in New Jersey. Haha Jersey Super Bowl. Thats funny, I'll use that."

At least you hate to admit it. What you should really say is you couldn't care less what he or any other carping critics say.

The Jets have just come off two huge wins. I would focus on that rather than what some Patsie fan says.

I'm surprised that fat fuck King could type the word "Jersey" with all of the crumbs and grease on his keyboard. He's eating his way to a triple-bypass. No worries; Bob Kraft will pick up his medical bills.

The sad thing is I used to like his column. Having to rank the two New York teams as 1-2must be terrible for him.No offense to Jersey.

Oh, and although he is a Pats fan, I do recall him writing about his daughter playing for a NJ high school field hockey team.

The big deal is that he can never EVER compliment the Jets without saying something negative. He KNOWS that the "NJ" thing pisses most Jets fans off, and he's just bringing attention to it. He genuinely hates New York.

    1) Who cares. We win, we rejoice. Who needs Peter King. "Respect comes from within" - Mr Miyagi (Even if he never said it, he should have)
    2) Dude just predicted us going to the Superbowl. What's so wrong about that?

I'm sick of all the talk of lack of respect. This is a team that hasn't deserved respect since we blew GB and IND out in 02, and then since Vinny went down in 99. Realistically, this is the first time we've been a contender since Elway-->McCaffery ripped our hearts out. We are a contender today. Even in '98, everyone knew it was Denver's year. This year is ANYONE's year, with the G men probably the favorites.

F#$% Peter King and just enjoy this.

Peter King basically used the crack that most small-mided Pats fans use. New Jersey. BFD, it takes nothing away from how this team is playing.

I'm an idiot. The picture's too small for me to see clearly what's really going on. God, that really is abysmal.

That's why he said New Jersey sports:

    a) The Jets and Giants are the local teams
    b) Jersey has no teams, save for the Devils and Nets
    c) It's Springsteen. Everyone in Jersey loves Springsteen.
