I do believe if the Colts win they and the Pats are tied at 6-4 and the Pats lose out due to the head to head tiebreaker.

Am I correct in believing so?

Umm, it's week 10, and you're worrying about the wild card tiebreaker?, but yes the first tiebreaker for teams not in the same division is head to head in a 2 way tie. But I'm not sure the colts have tie breakers the AFC North teams who can finish the week no worse than 6-4 or on the dolphins or bills. So if it is a 3,4, or 5 way tie i haven't checked it out.either way the tiebreakers will not be even close to settled until miami and buffalo have played the patriots again and each other.

It'll be weird to see the Pats momentarily out of the picture.

Hasn't been that way for almost a decade.

If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.

    1. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
    2. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.

    Two Clubs

    1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
    2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
    4. Strength of victory.
    5. Strength of schedule.
    6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
    7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
    8. Best net points in conference games.
    9. Best net points in all games.
    10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
    11. Coin toss.

    1. Colts and Cheats are in different divisions

    1. Colts won in week 9.

    Colts win the tiebreaker.

The Conference standings page on nfl.com applies the tiebreakers when they rank the teams. It is a pretty sight this morning.

There are two wild card spots, so both the colts and pats could make it.

The pats have two tough games upcoming, at miami and vs pitt. They may be at 6-6 before you know it.

That pats miami game is looking pretty big next sunday. Too bad I'll be watching the 7-3 jets at the 10-0 titans :)

This is a little premature, isn't it?

Savor the win, and get on with it.
