Thomas Jones. 104 yards and a touchdown. That right there was production and it didnt feel like we ran the ball hardly at all. Leon also ran 5 times for 18 yards. way to go guys churning on the ground!
It would of been nice to see someone actually able to come around the corner, definitely not a stellar performance. But persistent yes.
I'm with you See my thing is that I hate Thomas Jones running style. He isn't spectacular. He just follows his blocks like any other running back. I am not on his bandwagon because he is the top AFC rusher. That just means that running backs in the AFC suck this year. I don't care if the man has 20 tds he is an average at best back to me! Being built like a lion sure is misleading
Hey when we needed to get chunks of yardage to twist the momentum back in our favor, TJ got it done. When we needed 2 yards on 3rd and 2, the OL got no push and he had no hole to run through.
The left side of the line were a bunch of push-overs in the running game today, and Mangold was spotty. Our best bet is still pulling Faneca and running near right, with the option for Jones to bounce it outside- those plays work very often for us. Out of the offset I, we've been able to get some room on the left thanks to Richardson, but the overall push on that side can be a lot better. All that said, the running game is worlds ahead of where it was last year, and it's nice to see Jones gaining confidence..
what game were you watching? i have nothing against Jones. I think he's a good, steady back. One that won't make many mistakes. But he is not a game breaker like many of you make him out to be.
We ran the ball well in the first half but in the second we got almost nothing between the tackles, but kept running those plays.
Keller - 8 catches 87 yards and a bunch of huge 1st downs. T.J. 30 carries for 104 yards and a TD is big too.
That's what TJ does, he gets the job done. He's usually nothing spectacular but you can count on him to consistently get the job done. That's a very valuable asset to have at the RB position.
If he had a 24 and the name Martin on his back people would be slobbering all over him. Fact is, that's exactly what I see when I watch him play.
It would be nice if we could count on him to get 2 yards when we really need it. But you can't have everything I guess... has he even fumbled this year? THat's great if he hasn't..
