I'd love to see some calls go the Jets way.... Like when Seymour planted Clemens into the turf and the ball was picked and went for a TD... That's a play that gets called all the time but, not against the Patsy's.... I'd love to have a call like that where the Patsy fans will come complaining and we can play it off like they got to do for the past many years as if it's a legal hit.... How about that Phantom PI on Cotchery in the last game that backs us up and Favre throws a pick trying to get 30 yards.... Two calls right there that can go either way, are GAME CHANGERS.... I pray that either there are no Game Changers like that or we at least get back one of the many we are owed over the years.
lowery will get at least one phantom interference call. at least once the jets will get a big third stop only to be called for a personal foul because one of the blitzers hands grazed cassels helmet as he threw. the pats will get called for one major penalty and we will all say "its about time" thats just the way it goes when playing the pats. the jets should be able to win easily even with the officiating going against them.
It might even out a little. Favre has been known to have a few calls go his way, at least Bears and Vikings fans always said so.
The Pats always get all the calls. That's a given. I wouldnt expect that to change. I fully anticipate sitting on the couch screaming at the Refs for giving the Patriots some phantom calls. That's how it goes with the Pats, especially in close games. The NFL loves the Patriots. That's just how it goes.
I posted something similar on another thread and people said I was "paranoid." Anyone who fails to understand that the NFL is primarily a business is just naïve. The league has a vested interest in keeping the "Patriots Brand" - along with Brady - a moneymaker for them. Does anyone really think that Goodell would want to see a different team win the SB every year? The real revenue comes from having certain teams do well every year; this is what moves merchandise, keeps ratings up, and sells tickets. Finally, does anyone think that Kraft chats up the refs because he actually likes these guys? Fuck no, he wants to buddy up to them so they don't forget what team most helps keep their salaries going up.
The one thing I think we can all agree on is the officiating has been brutal this season across the board. I can't remember another season where so many games have been won or lost as a direct result of a blown call. Let's just hope tonight's blown call is against the Pats (doubtful) or that the Jets could overcome it.
They won't get 1 holding call all game...either on running or passing plays, even though when the announcers are showing a play in slow motion and praising the Pats OL for opening up a huge hole, and everyone else and their mother will see a Pats player with two handfuls of jersey
10 defensive holding penalties are gonna get called on us tonight 3 pass interference 5 roughing the passer 1 for brett favre being a grandfather 1 for mangini not sexually pleasing the refs before the game
Probally in favor of bellicheat and the patriots since its a big game against the jets in new england.
I'm sure the Jets are well aware that the Cheaters will get the usual special treatment they always get from the refs, especially playing in Foxoboro. Can you imagine the number of games these jerks have won because of the officials, boggles the mind when you think about it. Go J-E-T-S !!!!!!!!!
Since I doubt anyone would call it pussy thinking if it was accurate thinking, I take it JonieD is the only Jet fan I know of who does not think the Pats get the calls.
How will the refs call the game? Seriously? With one hand on their flag and the other fondling Bellichick's scrotum....
