i feel the same way. i just sat in class for over an hour and remember nothing. all i could think about was the game tonight. luckily i resisted the urge to bring my computer to class. so i didnt sit on this site the entire time.
I suggested tailgating in the parking lot of my office complex this afternoon to get ready for tonight... I was immediately shot down ... Damn Giant fans...
yea im skipping classes today and probably tomorrow too based on what happens....fuck the pats J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!
We tailgated at my friend's wedding once. It was his second marriage and he's a Dolphin fan, so fuck it. Our food was better anyway.
Honestly, even though I have to go to a sports bar to catch it, I love NFL Network. If I had to wait until Sunday to see this game, I don't think I would have made it. Win, lose or draw, I'm looking forward to sleeping tonight.
Getting pretty excited at this point. This is IMO the most important game the Jets have played since the playoff game against Pittsburgh in 2004 (2006 was fun while it lasted, but it was always clear to me that the Jets were going nowhere). Here's where we see what is really what.
... which is why I don't let my students use their laptops in class. Why should they be able to surf this site when I can't?
I was so hyped in school today (I get out at 11:30, senior in HS FTW!). First of all, I wore my Ty Law jersey, yes, I bought one when he came to the Jets (don't ask). In my journalism class, all we do is read the newspaper. I read the articles in the Post and Daily News about the game, and I got even more excited. Of course, this is the one game I won't be around to watch (at least live as it is played). As soon as I get home, I am watching it. If I have to stay up until the wee hours of the morning, I will.
oh my god thank goodness im not the only one. i got 15 minutes of sleep last night and i have such a warm itchy pit in my stomach that i cant sit straight. im in microeconomics class right now and i cant focus on a damn thing. i told my boss that i have "a very important appointment" tonight so I got off work early so i can pick up my friends and watch the game. im going nuts, i have never been so excited for a game in my life.
Lucky for me my one class today was cancelled, but I do have lots of homework which I so far have procrastinated doing. Can't wait until we kick some Pats ass tonight!!! Going to have to play some Madden today to pass the time I think...
One of my classes is actually heavily computational, so there is a good reason for someone to bring a laptop. It's not necessary (I do everything on the computer at the podium, which is displayed on the front wall), but I tell students who want to do that that they should sit in the last row so as not to distract people. Very few do. In my other class (an introductory stat course), there's no need for a computer. I ban them from class with one exception - if someone believes that they take notes better on a computer than in a notebook that's fine, but then they have to e-mail me the notes they've taken within 1/2 hour of the end of class (I don't look at them other than to confirm that they are actually notes taken for the class). I've been doing this for about 5 years, or about 300 students, and exactly one student has ever done this, and he did it for one class session. You might consider doing something like this if you don't want to ban laptops completely.
I have a test at 5:40. I plan to finish that test within 20 minutes, walk out, smoke 2 joints, and watch the Jets...while smoking 2 joints...and then I smoke some more...out of my friends Illy... cause thats how we roll.
i have never understood why professors allow it. this semester one kid in a class of mine actually takes notes with his computer. everyone else i see with a laptop in class is on the internet.
