For the first time in my 22 years of being a Jets fan, I'm excited to see our defense on the field. No longer do I watch in fear of the opponent dismantling our defense in route to putting up points. Nope. This year is different. On any given play this defense could be either getting the ball back for the offense or putting up points on there own.

I love me some Jets D.

i had that worried feeling you talk about for the first few weeks of the season. they have really stepped up their game recently. the last two games have been very exciting for the defense.

The 2004 defense was a well-oiled machine as well.

I was going to mention them, they were fun to watch most of the time.

The D in 2004 was real good, but I don't remember them creating turnovers and points like this year. I could very well be wrong.

We were around the top of the league in turnover differential, as I remember. Vilma had a few picks as a rookie, Erik Coleman had a bunch as well. Of course, the differential was also due to a pretty conservative offense a la Herm that didn't cough it up much.
