The Jets OL will only get better over time. All of the improvement they have made so far has been accomplished in only half a year. One of the reasons the Giants are so good is that they have gone to great lengths to keep their OL together. In another year or so the Jets should have the best OL in football.

Ditto the defense. They have already made huge strides and again they have only played together for 9 games. They already lead the league in sacks and are 5th against the run. When Harris gets back and they gel some more they may become as good as Tennessee's defense is this year. If Gholston ever shows up they will only become even better.

If I were any other team in the AFC right now I would be worrying.

Good points all around. The only thing I'll add is to continue to find those players that can step in once someone retires, goes to FA, gets cut, etc.

    Sustained success.

Let's make the odd years playoff years too.

Oh how quickly we jump from 1 extreme to the next around here. Can't wait to see this board after the pats game. Win or Lose it is always interesting to see what people are venting/praising between a 7 day span.

I think Don is a frustrated ole Jet fan...like myself..but even we are coming around. I totally agree.

Its time to go up "there" and make a statement..and this would be the perfect time to do so.

Wow...haha...hey, if you people really listened to what I have to say you would know that I only say what is true. When they suck I tell you they suck and when they are good I tell you that too. I predicted they would easily win the last two weeks and I predict they will easily win tomorrow too. If they don't I will be here to blame Mangini. Count on it.

No worry here my friend - How about the QB position ? Brett Favre ? When he folds what are ya gonna do ?????? 1 more season at the most then you added Law - another old man! 3 steps backwards and i love it

If anyone is gonna worry it should be AFC east cause Miami could win the Division, if you dont think so , look at the schedule !!

funny your bringing up the qb position. chad has been doing his usual stuff for you guys this year. sadly he isn't the most durable of qbs. get back to me when he makes it through the entire year before you start talking about how unstable this teams qb situation is.

and your gonna attack a depth signing in law? you can do better than that.... i think.

Signing Favre to salvage a sorry team - thats sad !!!

Ty Law is past is prime, enough said !! As for Chad, he's a great QB, dont understand why the jets released him ? Penny for Favre

We got Chad cause we did NOT have a QB at all and for the record Henne will be our QB in the near future. So how about your QB situation ?? If favre retires or returns you still have a QB issue, no future with Favre and you Know that!!

    The Question is -
We all know The Jets are not a Super Bowl Team, so why not move forward with a younger QB ? Dont have 1 - huge set back !! I love it !!

For the record - that car is ugly as hell , what is it ? Miata ? :shit: Was it customized by Unique Whips !!
You can do better than that.... i think.

So, Henne's a guaranteed future starter, huh? Yeah, Clemens was our future starter out of the 2nd round. Look how that worked out. We're still waiting for him to show something.

The biggest benefit to Favre as far as our future is concerned is that our QBs have stated that they're learning a lot. They tried to use Kellen in a Pennington style offense, and it failed. There aren't many QBs out there like Penny, and I'd be worried about your precious Henne learning to play the position differently than he's suited.

Why did we release Penny? Because while he won games for us, defenses familiar with him could consistently shut him down, meaning that he was limited as we got closer to the Super Bowl. I loved Chad, but I also never felt we were going to win the Super Bowl with him, and I felt his influence on the playbook limited what we were seeing out of Kellen Clemens.

As far as your threat to win the division goes, I see 3 losses. All in division. With a possible slip up on the road. New England doesn't fall to the Wildcat again, and road trips to Buffalo and the Meadowlands limits the effectiveness of an offense that relies more on finesse than force. 9 - 7, or worse, doesn't get it done. Sorry.

To respond to the OP, I agree. I hate to go back to the comparisons, but in 98 we had a new OL (with Mawae and Fabini) that took some time to gel before dominating for our new RB and QB. Our defense was also relatively new, although with mainstays like Aaron Glenn and Mo Lewis. It also improved as the season wore on. I like the way our team is moving, and I sure as hell hope it continues.

    Grogan,

We have 2 young QB's on our roster further along in development than your precious Henne. All the queer Lphins fans that want to make themselves believe their QB situation is SOO much better than ours are fooling themselves. Enjoy Chads mental breakdown when the games get more important, the pressure is on and he has to make a play. Getting rid of him for Favre accomplished a few good things for us.

    1) Speeds up the process of finding our franchise QB when Favre retires (probably this year).
    2) Helped the Dolphins defeat division rivals.
    3) Brought years of experience and a winning mentality to this team.

Is this the same Miami that self destructs year after year in December? Oh that Miami. While it looks good for you right now, dont count on it.
