the jets have been great stopping the run this year. however, for the pats, they like to utilize the short pass, which the jets d have been susceptible to. hopefully mangini shows us how good a coach he is by game-planning effectively to neutralize welker and taking away a key component of the pats offense. i say keep revis on moss and bring the safeties into the box and throw the kitchen sink at cassel. make him make a play.
I'm glad nobody is ripping our WR's. It's not like they had a bad game, we just didn't need them. Haha. Also, to sum it up quickly... the winner of this thursday's game will have a 2 game lead in the division with 6 to go. It will really set the tone.
This is a defining moment. A fork in the road. If we win in NE we can really do something this season. If we lose it's back to the old drawing board. This is a statement game to announce that we've arrived if we win it!!! Lets go jets!
The real importance is so the darksiders don't take over the message board with their idiotic posts about firing the coaching staff, trading half the team, etc.
what's with your fixation on "darksiders"??...you've been clammoring about them in about 3 or 4 other threads in this forum...you better quit "trolling" before the mods deal with you accordingly.
Do we really need a "Stat Boy" to remind us long-time Jets fans that a Jets-Patriots game is meaningful? For crying out loud!
NO ADALIUS THOMAS ... I hate to say it but im glad someone big on the PATSgot hurt today, but Adalius Thomas... Christmas is comin early this year BABY lol ESPN's Michael Smith reports that Patriots LB Adalius Thomas is expected to miss the rest of the season with a broken forearm. Thomas is New England's best pass rusher (five sacks) and plays more snaps than any Patriot defender. Pierre Woods figures to start at OLB and is a huge dropoff and the team could use a four-man defensive line more often. It's a devastating loss to a defense already short on playmakers. Yea this games gonna be huge for us and it sucks where in New England but it is what it is and with Thomas out and Brady where playing the best we've had all season we need this win , It might be the biggest game all year. I have faith...
I just thought it was interesting how we are tied in records for every category, so this would be our chance to differentiate ourselves. obviously this game is huge.
we really need to win this game obviously. i would like to see them come out and handle the pats. they are hurting big time this year. the jets have no key injuries the pats have at least 4 that i would consider key. if this jets team with all this momentum they have cant beat the pats who are injury plagued than i will be disappointed. i can see this team being 11-5 at the end of the year but a loss to the pats will put a big damper on those thoughts.
Totally agree! The Pats don't "really" need to win this game because they don't have as much to prove. This game is far more important for the Jets. Most of all, a loss would really hurt given the Jets would lose the head-to-head tiebreaker. I don't know if the Jets could make the playoffs if they don't win the division. Now is the time to do it!
Go Pats - Miami has an easier schedule - Jets you gotta win !!!! Miami could be 8-4 with ease !! Go Fins !!
If we stop NE's run, pressure Cassel, and do not allow them to throw their predictable underneath stuff over the middle to Welker and company we have the game half won. On our O side, we have to run well and Favre has to make good decisions. I think we need to play loose and just execute.
This is a game that the Jets will win decisively. I also think we have a decent shot at beating the Titans the following week. I still believe we will will a minimum of 11 games as the team continues to gel and improve its performance on both sides of the ball. Provided we don't lose any key players such as Jenkins, I consider the playoffs a lock at this point.
Enough already about all this talk of beating the Pats and staking a claim to the AFC East. Lets paste them and follow up with a crushing win over the Titans and make a case for winning the whole party.
:rofl: Let me ask you, did it make you feel better making bold statements like this before week two as well??? Wow the Kool Aid is flowing freely in Jet Land. Reality is always differen't my friend. You would think that the Jets hadn't been beaten by the Raiders a few weeks ago, and just blew out a top 5 Rams team.
You mean the same Rams team that almost beat the Pats? In the NFL, no team is truly bad enough to be a guaranteed blow-out loss. They're all professional football players. The Jets winning by 44 points says more about how good the Jets are playing now that how bad of a team St. Louis is.
