I think it would be awesome to have a mock draft contest where people post their mock drafts and then whoever scores the most right on players going to teams in the first round would win, or get a prize or whatever.

Mods I dont know if you already have this set up or something but if you dont I think it would be cool to do.

You could sticky it on the top and the week before the draft have people submit their entries and then whoever wins for picking the players to teams wins or something like that. I mean you could come up with your own formula however you want to determine it. Similar to the way the football pool was ran.

There could also be prizes for the top five finishers or the top three.

Let me know what you think if you would like to do it or not?

    Feedback apprecaited.

Just to throw out one more idea, if the mods do this there could be a official announcement thread on it of when people can put up their mocks.

Thought it would be a great idea.

    Almost forgot.

There could be bonus points if someone picks the right trades as well because thats really hard to do.

Is it just the Jets draft, or the whole draft, all the teams?

I was thinking doing the whole first round.

ESPN.com has run a mock fantasy draft in the past. It is only for the first 15 picks and instead of picking teams, you just select where a player would be drafted. So Reggie Bush is going to be teh #1 pick, whether it is Houston or a team trading up, so you would put Bush at #1.

If you were exactly right you got 32 points. If you were off by 1(Reggie goes #2) you get 16 points. Off by 2-8 points and so on down to 1 point correct. If I see the league I'll create one and post the info here to join. I'll go do a search now and let you know what I come up with.

Didn't see anything, but it may still show up. If not, those are some basic rules to go by, easy to score and you don't have to worry about trades.

Sounds like it could be fun, but I would prefer it to be done in the NFL Draft forum.

To be honest, I'm personally pretty sick of all these mocks already and wouldn't like to see the Jets forum inundated with more. JMHO....

I'm in, we should have one for all of the Jets picks and one for the whole first round.

    Here is my idea....

We have all 32 teams.. Sign up for 1 team, first come first serve...

And than we set a few days for a mock draft...I will be happy to set it up, moderate it and sticky it in the NFL forum...

    Thoughts?

This would be fun. I say we just do the 1st round though since you don't exactly have to be a draft guru to know whos gonna be taken with the 1st 32 picks.

GreenMachine, if we did the first come first serve basis wouldnt that leave a lot of people out since we have like a bizzilion memembers here, or is that why you were thinking the first come first serve since we have so much people?

What format do you think it would be the most simple for you and mods?
