This game really worries me. A non-conference game against a weak opponent sandwiched between a hard-fought divisional victory and a huge national divisional game agaisnt our arch-rivals in a game we MUST win, and with only a few days to prepare for it. Ouch.
I just hope they play like they did last week. If they do this should be no contest. If they revert to Oakland/KC play it will be scary. Let's see some consistency Jets!
I actually feel good. I have been to a million Jet gams in my life but I have never seen us beat the Rams, I think that changes Sunday.
This game scares me too, this has all the makings of a classic let down week. I really hope they carry the momentum from last week and come home to destroy a really crappy team but I would be happy just coming out of it with a W.
i'm not worried. i'd like to see jones get 20+ carries for at least 100 yards. more and more 8 minute drives.
A "W" alone, although acceptable, will not suffice. This needs to be a full blown body slam of a game. The Rams need to be crushed so the Jets can go into NE as the "beasts" of the east. NO MERCY.
I'd like to see it but an ugly win will count just the same as a blowout and set us up for the showdown with NE.
I'm concerned on the general principle of being a Jets fan, but in actual practice we have a great matchup. The Rams beat Dallas on the back of Stephen Jackson, who is banged up and facing our solid run defense (if he even plays). Bulger hasn't been much of a factor even in their two victories. That Redskins game was a complete fluke. 3 lost fumbles, including 1 returned for a TD. The Rams were held to 200 total yards in the game. They don't defend the run well at all, and we finally showed a determination to feature the running game in our offense.
Not sure if it's what you meant, but I disagree that it needs to be a blowout scorewise. I just want to see us pound the Rams along the LOS. Set us up as a run first team and then allow Favre to exploit the weak NE corners on Thursday.
Im definitely worried...especially in between a great bills game and a short week before a HUGE pats game.
Thanks for the insightful commentary. We have an excellent shot against the Pats now that we've seen Cassel play, and that Titans game could be closer than you think. They've faced 2 other solid run defenses this season. Against Minnesota, their longest TD drive was 33 yards. They barely knocked off Tennessee. Kerry Collins can't win the game entirely on his own, which means it'll largely come down to our ability to not turn the ball over and our ST play.
BTW, don't worry. We're all aware that your location of "Down South" refers to the fact that you constantly love to suck cock. Don't worry, no one will judge you. You live your life, you teal-wearing fatherfucker.
I'm not worried...I would have been more worried if people were underrating the Rams like they aren't a somewhat talented NFL team...as if we should walk over any below .500 team. I just don't know what to expect...just that W at the end of the game.
Raiders Chiefs Meltdown Part III, God I hope not, I think if we play with more aggression like last week, and do not take it like we may make mistakes we will be alright
I am not worried at all. I think the Bills game was the start of something big. This team found its identity and will take care of the rams easily. We are catching them at a good time, they are starting their 4th string RB so they are going to be one dimmensional. We need to win the next 2 out of 3 minimum.
The Rams offense is awful normally, and without SJax they're completely one dimensional. Bulger has had 1 game this year where he wasn't completely terrible. Even if Favre stinks again the defense should have the Jets in a position to win.
What I hate are people expecting us to BLOW THEM OUT OF THE WATER. The rams have only lost one game in the last three weeks, and sure it was to the cards (who, everyone has to admit, has a more high powered offense thent he jets despite us blowing them out of the water). However, the new coach has inspired confidence into that locker room, and they have been playing much better as of late. I expect the jets to win, but anyone who thinks this is a easy game hasn't watched the rams the last three weeks. They have found new life.
I'm always worried. There are no easy games or "sure things" in NFL (remember the Raiders?). There are upsets every week. Miami kicks the crap out of NE, the Browns beat the Giants, etc., etc. Every week is a different game, different matchups, etc. You just never know. I'll be very happy with a win...ugly or otherwise.
