    Oh, no question about that.

But here's the elephant in the ointment for Woody and the Giants: The very PSLs that they're charging a fortune for now are questionable "commodities" because of what they are doing.

In other words, here's the old stadium and it's perfectly servicable. But, Oh No, we need a new one, so we can gouge the public. So what's to stop them from doing the same freakin' thing 20 years from now?

"The stadium is 20 years old and isn't "upscale" enough for 2030. We need to build a new one. Oh.... and sorry, but your old PSLs that you paid for 20 years ago are history. This is a new stadium, so we're rescinding your PSLs and holding a new auction for brand new PSLs starting at $250,000 per seat."

What a friggin' future deterrant that is to the current charging of PSLs now! If you'd screw us like that once, you'll do it again. So the freakin' idiot who paid $400,000 for the PSLs last week in the auction has a HUGE diminishing return on his "investment" if you consider they are not forever but only include the seating rights the current stadium IN IT'S CURRENT CONFIGURATION!

Need an addition onto the stadium? A retractable roof perhaps? Oh, well, now your PSL is $40,000 more on top of what you paid, and your seat price is going to be $1200 per game. Can't pay that? Well, forfeit the PSL that you bought back in 2009 and lose every penny of your "investment." Sorry!

It's no wonder the "auction" fell on it's ass. These guys are unconscionable and deserve whatever happens to this entire cockamamie idea.

I agree with you. If there were no other options or because of seniority you could not get seasts upstaris, then I would understand. These people are being stubborn. Woddie did look out for his long time fans, 27,000 of them. Thanks Woody!!!!

how do all the other teams do it? The fact that we share the stadium with another team you would think we would be paying half of what other team's fans are paying. This really sucks what they are doing to their fan base

They built a new stadium for one reason and that's luxury boxes. Luxury box revenue will increase from $5 million per yer to $50 million per year. The increased revenues from ticket prices, luxury boxes and the restaurant BS should be more then enough to pay off the debt. And maybe the owners could actually put up a little of their own money?

I just don't get how they can charge $700 a seat for that whole section. There is absolutely no after-market at that price - maybe 10% would be able to be resold. This means if the Jets have a couple of bad years, or if the weather is nasty in December, those seats will be empty. If you've been to "The Rock" in Newark for a Devils game, you'll see that the equivalent "Fire and Ice Club" section is almost empty because everyone is hanging out in the clubs or couldn't resell the games.

I can see the first couple of rows, but 30+ rows back on the 30 yard line for $700? Doesn't make economic sense.

However, the Jets do still have $80-$150 tickets available, so that's not too bad. I've been on the list for 7 years, coming up now so I hope that I can get a crack at $5000 PSL's.

Here is the problem and a very possible scenario. My seats are 5K per seat. I do not want them....You do! Ok take them and I will move upstairs. The guy upstairs whose seats I took can not afford the 5K and get bounced totally. He could be the biggest Jet fan ever, and is tossed away!

I don't really see why anyone is really shocked by this. Being a lifelong fan and season ticket holder entitles you to nothing in the eyes of the Jets. It's all about revenue and anyone who thought otherwise is a sucker.

Exactly, no one is shocked, but there is no product without the fans. Baseball thought the same thing for a while(different situation) and took them a long time to recover.

The movie business is seeing the same problem. More and More money to see a hour and a half movie, where for the same price you could own it, or even cheaper rent it.

Great way to show loyalty to the fans who have been more than loyal to the Jets. This is by far the biggest load of bullshit I have seen dumped upon any fan base in my entire life. Woody what in hell makes you think this is a good move? You must be listening to people that need to go see a proctologist to get their heads pulled out and take a look around.Woody you totally suck for doing this to the loyal season ticket holders.:mad:

Who around here is shocked? Where have you been? This is old news. We're not shocked, but we are pissed. Have a problem with that? Go tell the Chaplain. In the meantime, I'll continue to call Woody out.

Man, you are really on some kinda roll. What vision! What genius! What insight! What trolling bullshit.

Now, here you're wrong. A sucker is a guy who pays through the nose for a PSL. Wanna buy my seats from me?

But thanks anyway for the name-calling and labeling. The true trolling purpose of your post now becomes glaringly apparent. Kiss off.

He is the one with billions so he is the one laughing all the bank. So he has not a worry in the world. You do realize that his "investment" in the NYJs has doubled in just 8 short years. You also heard Woody moaning that he left money on the table with the PSL pricing & not charging for the UD. If my say I think your anger over the PSLs has totally stopped U from looking at the whole pix from Woodys POV. I'm sure if U were the owner of the NYJs & this opportunity fell in ur lap to enhance ur investment & make millions at the same time U to would have done just what Woody is doing soaking the fans for every penny they have (see the Titan gear thingy as a example).

    No, I'm sorry, Champ.

I live by certain philosophies in life. One of them is that if I've got more than enough to make myself and my family comfortable, prosperous, healthy, educated and satisfied, I don't need more than that.

To then go out of my way to unneccessarily and selfishly gouge people with your "opportunity," as you call it, would only make me feel like a real asshole, which is what Woody should be feeling, given, of course, that he has feelings.

You don't fuck over people who helped you build and support your business. It is a business, as you say, isn't it?

If so, treat it as such and reward your loyal customers. You don't fuck over your loyal customers if you want to stay in business.
