My God people are so retarted. They keep blaming him even if he puts 200 yards performance, or a 3TD performance...get a life yo...
90% of this forum hated on Thomas Jones all offseason, I must have said "just wait and see" more then 10 times. Now look....
Brett Favre's arrival here fucked with Mangini's head. We were perfectly set up to be a good running team, bringing in Faneca, Woody, Richardson, and Callahan, with Penny at QB, but Favre getting traded here changed ALLLL of that. Now, the majority of our plays are passes. Mangini liked Brady too much. He is obsessed with the pass.
I thought it was the three failed tries to punch the ball into the endzone that messed with our heads.
Yeah, we were practically set up to be a good running team except for the fact that we can't run up the middle unless we're playing the Raiders or the Chiefs.
It's one thing to hate Thomas Jones. There are posters like that, but they're really few and far between. Most fans recognize him for what he is: a solid back, but there are 15-20 backs in the league I'd rather have than him. He's a solid back who rarely fumbles, but he's definitely upgradeable, and he's not good enough to not bother giving him competition. With a good line, he'll be a good back. With a bad line, he'll be a mediocre back.
I still think TJ is slow and has no open field moves whatsoever. I give the guy credit for being a workhorse, but that's about it. Happy to have him for that reason, however we need to bring in a stud RB in '09 to infuse some energy into the offense.
Mcgahee definately always torched us. And then Travis Henry did it before Mcgahee. But Henry was the guy who drove me insane. We just couldnt tackle him, ever, it took at least 3 guys every time to bring him down. To me if we shut down Lynch on Sunday, and stop Roscoe Parrish, we have a very good chance to win this game. (Barring of course, another pick 6 by favre.)
This is a suprising stat. I like TJ and I hope he can run ruff shot all over the freakin bills and Favre throws 4 TD's and no picks. Now thats a sunday we would all remember for a long time. As long as we winhmy:
take those fan goggles off your face. if TJ wasn't a jet you wouldn't think twice to say Lynch is better. at least i hope not
Ummm dont be smart douchebag... Take that weiner off your face and listen TJ''s better even when he was a bear he's better then marshawn lynch. Comprende Mi Amigo ?
no way man. i have nothing against TJ, even if it sounds like I do sometimes. He's a starting RB in this league but not the star that some of you guys try to make him out to be. But whatever, I'll agree to disagree on this one.
If you add in receiving yards then they have approximately the same amount of yards, but Lynch has 2 more touchdowns. So technically, when just focusing on stats, ML > TJ.
