    Sounds like a good name.

I hope we didn't give up too soon on Vilma, but it was clear he did not work in the 3-4. Abraham was easily our most explosive game-changing defensive player this decade, but we needed to turn the page after the 2005 debacle. We got great compensation for the guy in Mangold.

The only one of these 3 who I believe should still be a Jet is Santana Moss. Similar to Abraham, Moss was the most explosive receiving threat the Jets have had in... 20 years?! Maybe longer! Maybe EVER! Never should have let this guy go (or let Coles go the first time around, for that matter).

Coles over Moss any day! Coles has better hands, more heart, and goes 110% on every single play.

And on another note its great to see Vilma is having a great year, we should get a nice draft pick in return.

Vilma is not playing great. I have watched most of the Saints games. Vilma's been okay, nothing special.

I too miss Moss. But when Coles is on, he's on.

We should have been lining up Coles and Moss on the outside for 10 years. Instead, we lined them up for only 2.

Chadwick was named AFC offensive player of the week. That oughta fire up the Penny vs Favre threads.

Santana Moss is beasting... Hated when we traded my fav jet. Vilma is leading the NFL in tackles and Abraham is top 5 in sacks but will probally get injured in the upcoming weeks like usual and Penny is doing pretty damn good for the Phins... Our Luck but... We shall overcome.

    The man is a ManGenius!

The weird thing to me is that the Herm-bashers and the Mangini backers out there all point to the same thing:
Herm Edwards won with Bill Parcells players!!!

That's why herm won: He coached the players Parcells drafted.

So, what does Mangini do? He gets rid of all of Parcells' former players (except for Ellis), and these same people still think this guy is "The ManGenius."

    I don't get it.

See? There you go. Mangini's supporters always have some excuse...
Well, that'd be a good explanation if the team had traded Ellis, along with every other Parcells player.
Or if Roman Phifer had been a bust (with any team but the Jets)
Or if Curtis Martin had been "too old" to join the Jets when parcells traded for him.
Or if Vinnie Testaverde had been "too old" when he led the Jets under Bill Parcells.

I could point out many more ridiculous excuses that Edwards' detractors/Mangini supporters routinely make in favor of their arguments, but this guy takes the cake.

Again--I am not making the claim that Edwards was a great coach!
I am just trying to make the poin that he did a decent job with the Jets, and should not be lumped with losers like Rich Kotite, Al Groh (who followed Parcells) or Pete Carroll. (Waitaminnit, did Carroll ever go on to bigger and better?)

Vilma is having a repeat of the 2005 season. New Orleans is ranked 18th in run D and 24th in overall D... He's just racking up a ton of tackles 5-6 yds downfield. I'll take Harris and our 4th ranked rush D over Vilma and his 18th ranked rush D. Thanks.

Abraham was always a beast his main concern is durability and chances are he'll get injured at some point this season. No one here ever questioned his skills; he's probably the best pure passrusher IN THE LEAGUE when 100% healthy. Yes, he's that good. But he'll get hurt....

Santana is a great deep threat and big playmaker but we got just as much talent back with Coles. They're two different types of players at this point but both are good-not-great receivers so that trade works itself out.

We all knew Vilma was really good we just made the mistake of becoming a 3-4 team which made some of our best players on D ineffective.

We have a lot though. The earliest I can remember is Terance Mathis.

Good point Hemi. The Jets are probably no different than other teams in this regard.

    Yes. With the Falcons.

Sometimes it is a matter of a player not fitting the system or team direction.

By the same token two of the MVP's of the Jets right now are Jenkins and Pace
