http://blogs.nfl.com/category/adam-schefter/ This is another POS player out of NE that I could care less if he ends up on the IR list for a full season. I thought it was of importance how long the suspension will be (if any) because we play these clowns on Week 11. Let's hope Goodell makes a serious example of these players laying obvious cheap shots and have a past history of such actions on the field. I hope it to be for at least 2 games with a heavy fine. **EDIT: My bad. Could one of the mods please move this to the NFL forum. Thanks. **
He was fined for it. He wasn't suspended though. But now throwing elbows at two QB's, and then blatently trying to poke Brandon Jacobs in the eye last year should get him at least a few games. Eric Smith was suspended for one game and that was his first offense. A repeat offender should get multiple games, at least.
You want to hear some funny shit sometime? Ask some rabid Patriot fan to justify that hit and explain why it wasn't dirty. You get some great stuff. "Its natural to thrust your elbow out like that when you're falling down." "You can't tell how his body is twisted from that angle." "He'd never try to put Losman out of the game, he sucks much worse than his replacement." "I have no penis." etc. etc.
That is going to hurt the Pats run defense. Just look at the Vikes, about to lose both Williams from the interior of their line. Hard to replace.
Per rotoworld... http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=128914 ProFootballTalk reports Patriots DT Vince Wilfork will be fined but not suspended after meeting with Commissioner Goodell. PFT's source indicates that Goodell had initially planned to suspend Wilford but came away from the meeting convinced that Wilfork understands the league's emphasis on player safety. He'll be in uniform for the Sunday night matchup against the Colts. Oct. 29 - 9:25 am et What bullshit...if this was Erik Smith with no history of foul play it would have been at a minimum 1 game. I guess the league's love of the Patriots continue. Well done Goodell.
