i had only heard that the two saints were on the list so far. that would stink to lose leon for some games. im assuming no news websites have a list posted at this point.
Jetsblog said this was false, as Charles Grant is not on that list but is actually on the real list....ESPN also said the list is 8 players.
Leon came into camp this year more lean and muscular than before. That could be from working out hard in the off-season. Or it could be related to diuretic and/or steroid use. No way to know. Too bad Leon's play hasn't really reflected his fit status. He's not really doing much this season. He's got projected career lows in attempts and rushing yards.
but he's made the Jets 1st in starting field position. Yes he's not being used in the backfield more, but he is doing a valuable service on ST.
I'd be extremely disapointed if this was true..... I don't like cheaters and I especially don't like having them on my team ie; Chatman.
I would say this is absolutely true. Why in the world would a list have Leon Washington of all people on it if it wasn't true? Its too bad, it's going to suck losing our only explosive player on O, even if he isn't being used properly.
leon washington suspended this would really be a big loss for the jets. if they lose leon for 4 games the special teams will be hurting. maybe justin miller will be ready for kickoffs and they could use brad smith for punt returns
Warrick Dunn being on the list is the biggest surprise because he's such a class act. I never thought he'd be a guy who would cheat.
He´s a small guy and he´s a grandpa for an NFL-RB. He´s gotta keep up with the young guys. And in today´s NFL beeing a class act and juicing doesn´t really collide.
By the way, Malcolm Floyd does not play for the Chargers. He retired from the NFL after playing with the Rams in 1997. His younger brother, Malcom Floyd, currently plays for the Chargers.
I'm not saying the steroid charge is true but I could see the motivation for it: Smallish backup RB thinks he needs to get an edge to start playing more. Contract year coming up next season. Wants to start the year with a bang. It's plausible.
The number of players who recently tested positive for steroids and have penind cases is eight, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. He said it was more than ten players yesterday. Four of the eight have tested positive for the diuretic Bumetanide, which helps lose weight. Texans long snapper Bryan Pittman is one of those who tested postive for that supplement. The cases are apparently under appeal or will be appealed. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Home_NFL.aspx
Based on the last two posts it sounds like that original list is BS. I'll wait until something more concrete comes out. Unfortunately, even if Leons name does not come up, some people will always believe he's on steroids because of this.
Hold on. The fucking illegal substances found were water pill derivatives. History shows that the water pills were used in conjunction with steroids to mask steroids, however steroids were not reported to have been found.
Same thing Chatman got suspended for. It's not steroids but it's illegal because it can be used to mask them. The original list appears to be bullshit based on follow up reports. I wouldn't worry too much.
If this turns out to be true it would totally suck to lose washington. Seems like he would not have to use illegal subaances but you never know. Innocent until proven guilty.
