His ill advised blitz from 15 yards out allowed the completions to the TE that put the Raiders in FG range.

For a smart, elite player he's certainly having an "off" season and that play right there kinda brought it to light.

I think if you time your blitz so poorly and from that far out you should have good enough sense to abort it.

Obviously others made mistakes in the game that led to that point, but THAT play right there lost it for us in OT.

Then Baker is more to blame.

It was lots of people....you can;t say that his blitz would have gotten through regardless of how he timed it....and even if he stayed back in coverage, there's no saying he'd have stopped the completion.

If you want to blame a play, blame the Baker slip...the percentage chance of him making the catch is way higher than the chance of Rhodes stopping the pass play whether he covered or blitzed better.

look the Jets really should have put that game away earlier but they did not, Kerry rhodes simply misjudged the snap count

Ah, I see, it was Kerry Rhodes in the parlor with the wrench.

There were a ton of reasons we lost, and ultimately, the reason you choose is the player or coach you want to scapegoat.

And if Brad Smith doesn't fall down in the 4th quarter we win.

We shoulda put this game out earlier

Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts.

IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.

I don't expect much from baker really, but I do expect better from our star defensive player.

Not only did Rhodes horribly mistime his blitz but he also collided with the defender that was supposed to guard the TE.

I'm not saying he is to blame for how we got in that mess in teh 1st place, but I expect our star players to make big plays... not the extreme opposite.

My main point, si that Rhodes has been a bit of a dissapointment this season. I don't buy the "Teams don't throw to him" excuse, cause he is a safety and he has the ability to make impact plays from that position. I'm sure teams have thrown to his side and run to his side many times, and I haven't seen anything from him yet this year.

Then you need to watch the games more carefully, because he is in the backfield for run support a lot. Hell, in the Pats game alone, for the goal line stand where we forced a FG in the 1st quarter, Rhodes made backfield tackles for loss on consecutive plays. Solo tackles. Watch the Cards game as well. He made 3 backfield tackles on James.

Sometimes I think people just read opinions on this board and take them as fact and read the stats in the box score and think they tell the entire story. No, he doesn't have a load of sack or INTs, and that won't get him into the Pro Bowl. Screw the Pro Bowl. Watch the games again and you will see what you didn't the first time.

    Truth has been spoken.

And like the rest of the team...Rhodes hasn't even hit his stride yet.

The football fan - the most emotional, unethical, nonobjective human on the planet. With every defeat comes the call for firings and starting over, with every win comes the belief of a dynasty.

It was not one play, because there were tons of opportunities to beat the Raiders.

Well up until that play were still had a chance! :)

I can blame Jenakawski for making that kick but anyway, I'm not saying he is the only one at fault, I'm just saying that I don't expect our super star defensive player to make such a boneheaded play. He needs to lead by example.

We lost cause our offense failed to make the plays they needed to and the way jones was running we should have utilized the play action more we"ll be 4-3 next week btw the jets always lose a game they should we should be used to it

I'm going to attack Sutton because I believe that the blitz was designed that way, and because I hate Bob Sutton.

It just isn't playcalling that enables this team to become better than above average.
