I saw Daniel Murphy "try" to play second base this year, before his call-up, at Trenton when the the B-Mets played there. Anybody who thinks he can play second base in the majors on a regular basis is CRAZY. He showed no range and a barely average glove. AND this was during warmups. LOL. I am not a scout but this guys best position is still probably left field or first base.
sign texiera and trade delgado for middle relief help from a AL team if lackey's option is not picked up sign him and ollie perez to solidify our SP santana lackey perez pelfrey maine
also no more righty lefty specialists. our whole bullpen is righty lefty specialists we need relief pitchers who can pitch the whole sventh or whole eighth inning.
He is going to be jailed for the 3 months leading up to his trial. Anybody find it ironic that one of the people Burgos killed had the last name Minaya?
No, it's as popular a surname there as Jenkins or Moore or Washington is here. I think it is safe to say Burgos will never again pitch for the Devil Mets.
Did he ever really pitch for the Mets? BTW the Phillies winning is really pissing me off considering I thought we had their number all season.
my feelings exactly. the farther the Phillies go the more the Mets blew a chance at legitimately making the World Series.
opening day 07 he gave up that HR to Ryan Howard to tie the game. willie didnt walk howard with a runner on second and first base open.
I thought we opened against the Cards in 07. Oh that must be the home opener then.... yeah he sucked. Hopefully he gets thrown in jail so we don't need to worry about him screwing us in the future. To this day I will never know what Omar saw in this guy to give up a starting pitcher with a bright future ahead of him.
A young guy with good stuff that threw 100mph? Let's face it, Bannister is terrible. The Mets got nothing out of Burgos but they didn't really lose anything in Bannister except a fluke 2007, assuming he would've even put up those numbers with the Mets.
It might be a little too early to say that - he's had two full years in the majors, and one was good and one was bad. He was absolutely terrible on the road last year, after being better on the road than at home the year before, so it's hard to know what's real and what is luck. He'll never be more than a #3 or 4 starter, I think, but I would say that the jury is still out on him.
Pretty much the only way for a pitcher like Bannister to be consistently successful is to have a dominant ground ball to fly ball ratio and he's just about even for his career.
I think the jury is still out on Bannister but it must be considered that he plays in KC. I think it's difficult to gauge how good he is because of that. He seemed like he was on his way to becoming a good pitcher in 06 before the injury.
Why, because he loaded the bases a few times and got out of it with minimal damage? The guy barely pitched for the Mets and was very lucky when he did.
I don't think the Mets have enough to "steal" him from the Padres..... My bet is that he gets traded to a team like the Angels or Rangers......
Yisman created a World Series thread and spelled the teams names correctly. The thread was locked. Meanwhile, some clown wrote an incorrect team name in the ALCS thread and nobody fixed the error.
