Wouldn't it be 14 years? Did the Yankees make the playoffs in the strike year? Did Hank declare them Champions of the Strike year?

You call yourself a Yankee fan and you don't even know your team. Your just a bandwagon jumper. I think real Yankee fans would call you a 96er.

Are you accusing a Jets fan of being a wagon hopper? Yeah, I miscalculated, so what?

13 playoff appearances is almost double the appearances the Mets have had in their history.

I usually root for the Mets, but after all the crap you guys talk, two straight seasons of this shit is exactly what you deserve.

GMC!!!!! This truly was a great day. Honestly I wouldnt give 2 shits about the Mets and them losing however when I see Met fans take jabs at the Yankees and write things like this:
How can you blame me for not enjoying this day? (That btw was in regard to the final game at Yankee stadium.) I certainly hope you Met fans enjoyed your final day at Shea.

By the way, calling this a collapse is misleading. Considering this is the second straight time this has happened, isn't it just business as usual for the Mets?

We didn't miss the playfofs in 1994, the end of the season was cancelled when we were in 1st place. We haven't missed a postseason since 1993.

I don't see how its a collapse when the Mets were in second or third place for 90% of the season. The fact that they had one hot streak in early September does not negate that they were mediocre at best for the rest of the year.

Up 4 in the loss column on Sept 10 = collapse

I find the Yankee fans with anti-Met avatars and such extremely funny. Your team sucked just as bad as the Mets this year.

Except the Yanks play in a much tougher division(AL East might be the best division all around with the NL Central being near it in my eyes) and play in the tougher conference in the AL so had NYY been in the NL, they could have very well gotten more wins and done something(Especially in the NL West LOL)

But the difference is the Yankees would not lose the game the last day of the season when they control their own destiny. The Yankees were out of it 1.5 months ago. I'm not gonna put one up,but ...that game was for you Joejet!

On the bright side, Mets fans, at least you're being talked about more than the Yankees. Haha.

I wasn't going to take any shots at the Mets but since Met fans are still taking shots nat the yankees I'll have some fun.

Our collapse was bad in the '04 ALCS but it wasn't as bad as the Mets in '07 and now adding '08 to it PLUS we actually have a history to fall back on. We had recently seen 4 Championships, it made it alot easier to take. It's been 22 now going on 23 years since the Mets last won a Championship so you don't have any success to cushion the blow.

The really frustrating part for the Met fans is that they were so close to adding another "Wild Card Winners" banner:rofl:

Come on. This isn't even remotely close to as bad as the GYC. This is just the Mets being the Mets.
