Eric Smith Suspended One game for helmet to helmet hit on Anquan Blodin. Also fined $50,000. Chris Mortenson reports
Amazing. Did the league bother to ask themselves 'what reason would Smith have to go ahead and hit one of the leagues most respected players with a 14 point lead?'
maybe it was just such a nasty hit they felt they had to suspend him whether he meant it or not. they are trying to send a message about player safety.
i wasnt intentional but i guess it had to be done it should have just been 50,000 case from the clip u can tell he had no intention and just took a bad angle
He's suspended 1 game. The fine is okay, but just looking at the tape you can see that there was no intention to hurt Boldin and he would have hit him in the chest had Rhodes not hit him from behind.
BS!! I'd appeal the shit out of this, obviously it was an incidental it caused by another player(Revis)
I can't really argue with this. I don't think he did it on purpose but he did lead with the helmet and Boldin got F'D up. Luckily for everyone there wasn't any serious damage.
It's appropriate. I'm sure Smith had no intent to injure the guy, but that doesn't matter. Most of you would be bitching and crying till the cows came home if Antrel Rolle did the same exact thing to Jerricho Cotchery. So be fair about it. It was a nasty play and Smith deserves punishment.
Eh I don't know. I don't know how many times that's happened to Coles in the last couple years and I've always placed the blame on Pennington's slow high passes, not on the defenders trying to make a play.
