Play the game and then you can talk. It's part of the game. That was not a dirty hit. Rhodes hit Boldin first and then Smith hit him. To say Smith was head hunting is just ignorant.
It was a boneheaded game in meaningless minutes though because now we can see Smith not only get a fine but a suspension too and safety is one place we really lack in depth. Reminded me of the Donovan Darius shot on a packer WR.....Except Smith didnt clothesline the dude. Wont be shocked if Smith gets a game suspension though the league really wants to cut down on that shit.
Wow.. did you watch the play? RHODES FREAKING HIT HIM FIRST AND SMITH WAS GOING TO JAR THE BALL LOSE AND HIT HIM! He wasn't going for the head.
Yea...he's not gonna get suspended...Eric Smith isn't that kind of guy cause that kind of guy would have been exposed alot earlier in their career IMO...didn't look close to intentional in the replays either.
i dont think smith should get fined.....boldin was pushed into him.....if not for the push, smith would have hit him in the chest.
I never said he's headhunting but that was an unnecessary shot in the endzone in the closing seconds. Was a blindsiding shot like that really necessary?
Oh my God, a player actually left his feet to make a hit. Have you ever left your feet? I doubt it. That's the type of play we need on this defense. It's unfortunate what happened but to suggest Smith meant any harm on the play is utterly ridiculous.
That type of thought process is the reason this team gave up 35 2nd half points. Players should play 60 minutes.
I dont advocate to give up on a play but I just want common sense to be used and all. Eric Smith didnt have to prove anything today, he got a big INT and was all over the place with little to no help upfront. No need to do that.
i didnt feel it was intentional. smith will be fined for the hit. i just dont think he was trying to hit him in the head, he was trying to make a play.
Yeah like Boldin's paying attention to the charging defender rather than trying to catch the ball that Warner threw.
Yes, no need to make a tackle. The injury was not good, but the hiht was him attempting to do his job. Quite being an ridiculous.
Would you have been happy if he caught Boldin and gave him a hug and a high five after the touchdown?
