It ain't the coaching folks.

Lots of things to complain about.

One MAJOR thing is the Jets running game.

that must be it, because those things can't occur and the coaching can't be bad simultaneously.

What's your excuse for our defensive schemes? Rivers had all night to throw. He ate us up alive - or is that dead?

21 pts off turn overs and the failed onside kick resulted in a short field for another 7

once Jenkins went out the game was over no matter what our offense did

the running game? we never had a chance to establish it. after the first pick 6, it was 24-10 before we knew it. the hype about not throwing enough got to the coaching staff and we got too cute trying to throw it. granted, there was a fumble and 2 int's in there, but the running game was the least of our problems. once kerry jenkins came out, they ran something like 12 out of 13 times. our lines need a lot more depth and work.

Penalties, wasting timeouts, this was the firts week we didn't have 12 men on the field penalties, the team looks totally unprepard. How does the coaching not take a hit? The players have to performe which they are not but the coaches take a hit too and Mangini has been an awful HC the last year+.

Your wrong it is the coaching... calling an onside kick was coaching, the play calling is coaching.... not having the team prepared is coaching......not making the proper adjustments is coaching......not playing to your players strengths is coaching
I could live with the QB/WR not being on the same page at this point, but not finding the weaknesses in thier defense to get our receivers open is also coaching.

  9. Sooooo....basically nothing falls on the players? It's completely on the coach?

The onside kick in that spot is just about the worst call a coach can make.

But wait, I thought we ran the ball too often?

We were averaging 4.4 ypc prior to today. Everyone bitched we ran too much. What did we run 10, maybe 15 times today?

I didn't like the call but either don't mind being aggressive. A lot of people were complaining about not being aggressive. Well there ya have it - risk/reward.

The defensive schemes just plain suck. Every QB we face looks like a hall of famer. He didn't learn much from Belly. He should have remained a ball boy for a few more years.

If they were that bad in week 1 and 2, what do you expect in week 3...perfection? Also, if communication sucked in week 3, why wouldn't they suck in week 1 and 2?

And losing your friggin NT is going to cost you some in pass rush...common sense...

while i generally have a less hostile view of our coaching staff than most posters on this board, the one area i definitely feel that coaching is letting us down in defense. it is simply inexcusable that we are never getting pressure to the QB. we have talent on D and we are not using it.

TJ was 10 for 37yards. Leon was 1 for -1. You DONT win games like that. I dont know who told you we had to run less. Let Faver throw more? Fine. But not run like that.

You can take that approach or you can get creative and come up with other ways to generate pressure, like confusing looks, or blitzing aggressively (a la Philly).

I would say offer Jim Johnson the head coaching position. I want someone who knows how to game plan a D. Mangini has no clue.

Why is this so hard for people to wrap their heads around?

    Seriously...

And no, this is not a rebuilding year Joewillie. We're 3 fucking games in.

Thomas Jones runs scared. He's so indecisive with his cuts and dances (or trips) even when there's a hole big enough to drive a truck through.
