Either that, or I'm not watching the same shit you're watching. Not that I'm all that worried, but I just can't buy it's the coaching. Penalties...injuries are killing us here...teams just not completely gelled yet... Favre is clearly not there yet.
^^^ I agree with you that Favre isn't 100% there yet, and Jenkins going down hurt a lot... But you can't tell me you don't see how we're constantly two steps behind the opposition. How they identify the weaknesses in our schemes much faster than (if) we find theirs, how the team lacks discipline and how the overall demeanor is low-key, low energy.. Communication in the passing game and in pass coverage sucks. Our front 7 talent is good, but the technique is poor... Most of that goes back to coaching.
In...1 game...against one of the best offenses in the league...on the road...lost the starting NT in the first half...seriously?
we havent been that great up to this point, this week is the first week we have played a good offense.
Negative...Favre had Jones or Leon wide open on the failed pass to Smith. He's not making any reads, and that is an experience within the offense issue...does it suck? Yea. Does shit happen? Yep.
^ There you go. The coaching sucks, but there are other factors that have us in an early hole this season...
Thomas Jones fumbles. Coles bobbles a ball which results in an int. Cotchery runs the wrong route. Farve throws to Cotchery's spot even though Weddle is there and Stuckey is wide open. Moore gets a false start which fucks up a the drive before the half ended, where Leon ran it back to the 50. Eric Smith trips and falls in coverage that allows an easy touchdown. The list goes on and on.
Penalties and communication is going to be an issue with a QB with a little over a months experience in the offense dude...it's going to happen. Fact is, you guys are basing a full season off of 2 games...some of you push it to 3 by finding something to complain about in a win. And just last week wasn't our secondary looking good?
Other than the early onside, I can't see how its Mangini's fault. Losing Jenkins was the difference maker IMO, no QB pressure, you don't win games without that.
The communication in the short and intermediate routes sucked in Week 1 and 2. Miami almost built a comeback off of our LBs' lack of ability to pass a receiver from one zone to another, and NE shredded our hook-curl-flat zones the same way. In Week 3, the pass rush wasn't on par with those two games, and the lack of communication and discipline was exposed down the field as well. That is something that needs to be coached.
Jaws: "Brett Favre has a ways to go." Just sayin'...iunno why you guys need to clean house and find a fall guy so quickly...those are actually the signs of *bad* franchises...but w/e thats why they do what they do and we rave about it later.
