home field advantage really doesn't mean all that much in baseball to begin with, especially when you don't even see that advantage unless you play a game 5 or 7. nevertheless in order to avoid the cubs and get homefield in the first round they have to win the division so i'm not sure what exactly you're trying to say.
im saying that the mets, and us fans, shouldnt be thinking about, 'trying to avoid a team' but rather on winning the division. but i agree w/you on the homefield thing, remember 2000?, hell how about the rockies last season, the red sox of 04, both the world championship marlins team
The only way letting Pedro hit there made any sense was if he was going to drive in two with a double up the alley. Oh.
Chipper has tendinitis in his shoulder and may not play tomorrow either. That would improve our chances. Phillies up 3-2 in the 6th
manuel inexplicably stays with pedro for 1 batter too long after a bad call at 2nd and it costs the mets a run
The inexplicable thing was that he once again let a lefthanded hitter beat him when first base was open. He clearly isn't good enough to pitch around someone, so the obvious move was to walk him.
we'll folks it looks like we will probaly trade spots w/the phillies again. im about to say fuck it, and say, just get in the playoffs, you cant win the ws if you dont make the playoffs
