Well if his excuse for out non stopping of Lamont, Welker & Faulk is our D was tired then my question is why was the Pat D not also tired ?
because the kept the Jets offense off the field... or rather the Jets offense kept themselves off the field in that game.
it all came in the first half. look at time of possession in the second half. its disgusting. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playb...y_by_play&season=2008&week=REG2&override=true the defense was always on the field in the second half. 12 of 28 1/2 minutes TOP in the second half is not how to win any game.
I think a lot of that is due to Jenkins running out of gas in the second half. As much as I love the guy, I want to see him on the field more. I'm not sure if this is due to their overutilization of him early or bad conditioning or the way his new diet is affecting his endurance, but I hope it gets better. They were running on us at will in the second half, and it wasn't just because they put Jordan into the game.
Yeah, the Pats got the ball out of the half, then when we finally did get it we gave it back to them right away. The 3rd quarter is what killed us.
One thing I hope will change at some point is the "rule" he revealed below. I understand the caution because he's new to offense, but ... Favre's ability to read a defense and audible to take advantage of some stunt they are showing is notorious. We are tying one hand behind our backs if this rule is permanent:
