http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=nflrankings/1-10/080917&sportCat=nfl granted its from espn but it hurts a little to be that far down.
i didnt realize it was nfl history rankings at first..but after seeing oakland miami and san fransico in top 10 i realized..
I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was just responding to the writer's list, really. Obviously, the Jets are my favorite team and there is not a close second. However, there are 31 teams and I do like some of them way more than others. So, the Jets are at 28. My next three favorite teams are 31, 5, and 32.
I feel for long-time Jets fans, I was there myself for years and years with Pack before Brett Favre arrived (if this analysis was done in 1992, Green Bay would almost certainly be lower than the Jets). Here's hoping he does the same for Jets as he did for the Pack! ... if on a smaller scale ... As a former resident of St. Louis though, what I was more interested in was if I could predict who the absolute bottom ranked team was. Bingo, I am a winner!!! The Arizona (nee St. Louis) Cardinals. So Jets fans, it could be worse!
The 'Aints I can understand, but ... the Cardinals??? Ugh. What, did you grow up in St. Lousi or something, and had no choice in the matter? I can't imagine anyone actually consciously choosing to be a Cardinals fan. In my mind it could only be like freckles, something you were born into by chance
What was to be expected? We barely squeaked by the pathetic dolphins and got beat by a Bradyless Patriots team that will not make the playoffs.
They always had players I liked, such as Neil Lomax, Stump Mitchell, Roy Green, Tim McDonald, and Lonnie Young. Plus, they were in the NFC Eastern Division and I hate the Cowboys and dislike the Giants.
I'd argue we're as high as 26. I don't disagree with the 28, but I have a hard time seeing Detroit and Atlanta as above us. More like tied in my opinion.
I agree, but thats like saying you are a slightly taller midget. I love how Kotite is a badge of achievement for the Eagles.
Wait, they said we have ZERO crushing playoff defeats? ZERO? You're telling me that the Pittsburgh game, Browns and Broncos AFC Champ games weren't CRUSHING DEFEATS in the playoffs?
The biggest crushing defeat in the playoffs was the 14-0 loss to the Dolphins in the Mud Bowl. I walked away from the TV that day with a bad taste that lasted for years. It cost us the second best coach in NY Jet history too.
The Cleveland game was pretty bad too. That would've been a huge upset...and who knows how far we wouldve gone.
Sure he bailed on the JETS, but no JETS fans should ever badmouth the TUNA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poOkc5ih39E
