.......has got to be on his way out this year. I know its only game 2, but LJ is already talking about jumping ship. Herm is 1 loss away from a Bounty-like mutiny on his hands. The fans out there want his head on the tip of a f--king arrowhead. He must have some serious nude photos of the KC owner w/someone or something.
And to think all we got as compensation for the buffoon/semi-motivational speaker/clock guru/chicken chaser is Leon Washington...
He is going to get Carl Peterson fired... You know you have to suck when your're about to get carl peterson fired.
That's mostly on Carl Peterson, how a GM can keep his job for as long as carl has w/o having won a playoff game since the 1993 season is just amazing. Carl has been in KC since the late 80s(I believe) and they haven't won a playoff game since Joe Montana's 1st year w/ them. It's Herm's fault for leaving and going into that situation where they had an old team and needed tor ebuild w/ a GM who cannot build winners.
How can you feel sorry for him? He has had so many chances with possibly very good teams, and he's mucked it up countless times. If he is going to be fired, he deserves it.
No one should feel sorry for herm b/c he left on his own. He made the decision to leave for KC so he made that mistake. Anyone dumb enough to work under carl Peterson gets what they deserve.
The only thing Herm was ever good at was his motivational speeches. Horrible at game planning/strategy. Zero ability to effectively evaluate talent. He is always getting outcoached on game day. His act is getting very old very fast.
^^^ Yeah, but that is nothing more than complete short-sightedness. Our team/personnel during that period was much better on paper -- the CS prevented it from being as good as it could have been. I'd give him all the credit in the world for getting in the playoff during "you play to win the game" season. Other than that ---- pathetic for sticking with Paul Hackett. Horrible clock management. Solely responsible for losing the Pittsburgh AFC divisional game by telling Chad to drop to his knees 3 times in a row to pull us further & further out of field goal range. Running Curtis Martin into the ground. Allowing a healthy Abraham to stand on the sidelines & sit out a playoff game.
-You have no way of knowing that Curtis didn't want to be run into the ground. And judging from his actions afterward, there's a good chance Curtis wanted to put the team on his shoulders. -Abe WAS hurt. Saying he wasn't hurt was for strategy.
Exactly. LJ is another Jamal Anderson, run into the ground with a record breaking number of carries, now his body is beat up.
Herm really is a terrible HC. The best thing going for Herm during his Jets career was Bill Parcells. Once the team BP built unraveled so did Herm.
That is a complement toward Curtis. He was a warrior and never wanted out of a game. Herm had options when Curtis was here. He could have used guys like Lamont Jordan more. He never really did. His clock management sucked, even when he hired a guy specifically for that. He did have great speaches during his press conferences. Jets 24/7 was more entertaining when he was here. He was the coach of the team who knocked Brady out. He gets points for that. I still would like to know the real reason for his leaving. That issue was never really pushed. It was like "don't ask, don't tell". We were happy he left so we didn't really want to know.
We had a dynasty team in our division during that time period and we still won a div title- the only non-Pats div title since 2001. he made us better when he took over, he took over a franchise that had made the postseason 1 time in 9 years, a team that missed 2 straight years including a choke job in '00. -The taking a knee in Pitt was dumb but the K needs to make the kick -How did he run Curtis Martin into the ground? Curtis averaged less carries under Herm than he did under Parcells/Groh. -He's supposed to force Abe to play? he wasn't healthy anyway but he's supposed to force the guy to play? w/ a gun? how was he supposed to do this? I don't care what he does in KC, I was talking about here and in KC he has a very young, completely revuilding team. I love how Parcells gets the credit for herm/TBs team but TB didn't get credit for the players Mangini inherited in '06 and Kotite/Steinberg didn't get any credit for the '98 team. Parcells inherited most of the '98 team, Bradway retooled that team 3 different times and made the playoffs each time. The only Parcells players left on the '04 team were jason ferguson, Chrebet(a backup), Curtis, Mawae and Fabini and Sowell. groh brought in Chad, Abe, Ellis, Becht and Coles and other key guys were brought in by TB- moore, McKenzie, Kendall, McCareins, Moss, Jordan, Robertson, Hobson, Barton, Brown, D. Abe, Barrett, tongue, Erik Coleman,...
