Am I the only one pissed about the shitty calls and non-calls in that game yesterday? I thought the offensive pass interference was crap, I thought there were at least 3 potential holding calls on that Sammy Morris run before the touchdwn. I was also amazed that they whistled a play dead when a WR (I believe Stuckey) was being held up by a DB (which, by the way, he eventually broke free from) but there was no whistle when Thomas had Favre and dragged him back 20 yards. Overall, I thought the NFL officiating was crap in many games. But no one seems to be saying anything about the calls yesterday.
There were questionable calls, but it''s not why we lost. If they blew the whistle early on Favre and he managed to escape after we would've also been pissed. Officiating wasn't an impact yesterday IMO.
Well...I cant really argue on the Thomas Jones rush when we got called for the holding, and on the offensive PI call...I really cant complain But its sad how the Patriots O-Line can hold on justy about every running play...Its sad.
I agree it's not why we lost, but I disagree that it had no impact. Especially on the BS pass interference call. And I do agree with you on the Favre no whistle, but at the same time, I'm just observing that they blew the whistle early for a WR but not the QB (who usually gets the early whistle).
Yeah...That was a clear late hit on Favre, never got called...Should have got called, 100%. And that roughing the passer was a horrid call on Cassell...Horrid job by the REFS in yesterdays game
I think all the calls that were made were justifiable. My problem is all the calls that weren't made. EDIT: And that's still not why we lost.
The only team that has the right to complain about Refs is San Diego, they were the only team on sunday that actually lost because of the refs. The refs this game werent terrible, missed some calls, but thats the same story every week. Our "offense" is the reason we lost.
It could have been worse, we could have had the Officials that Robbed the Chargers twice and cost them the game with a Big "OOPs sorry I blew the call".
You will get bad calls in nearly every game in the NFL. Human beings make mistakes but the reason we lost yesterday can't be put on bad officating but bad preparation by the Jet coaching staff.
See I would disagree with that, there is no way to tell but I think if they don't call that BS penalty on Cotch I don't think Favre throws the pick. We had just stopped the Pats, gotten the ball back and would have had the ball in NE territory. I felt we were going in for a TD there. The game changes completely if we score a TD and go ahead instead of them picking off Favre and scoring a TD. Don't fool yourself into thinking that one call didn't have a huge impact on the game because it certainly did.
The non call on the roughing the passer when Vrable hit Favre on the play before the BS offensive pass interference is the one that really got me pissed. Especially considering the roughing the passer call on Pace.
Bad teams get bad calls against them. Sorry, but that's the way it is in the League. Fair? Hell no, but it is what it is...
Good point, at least we aren't SD fans Last second loss to the Panthers, and then yesterdays ref debacle... wow, that would suck.
Also considering that I think Vrabel is human garbage.... that guy gets away with a ton of shit. I really despise him.
I hate his 1 yard Td catches, what a joke, a TE could catch them too, what a genious that Bellichicken...
The calls against us were not even questionable...they sucked, but well within the rules of the NFL. The only team that got robbed of a win by the refs this weekend was San Diego.
And I thought I was the only one pissed off at both those calls. Favre has clearly thrown the ball, yet Vrabel still manages to cross both his arms in front of him & deck Favre to the ground,......well after the play. Meanwhile Pace runs full speed to Cassel & basically gives him a physical bear hug but lets go without tossing him to the ground & the ref calls is unnecessary roughness by leading a hit w/his head. Horrible call. They are both the same height --- Pace basically hit him facemask to facemask.
