Well, I know Mick is older then me so... Since 1975 NY has celebrated 3 Superbowls, 7 World Series, 5 Stanley Cups and 0 NBA titles..Total of 15 Champions.
I'm still trying to come up with something I would consider bad about this injury. I'll let you all know if I think of something.
Have I ever told you I LOVE your Avatar?!?!?! Any who.... I have to agree 1000% with your assessment but either way, PATS fans can eat a d**k!!!
8 Stanley Cups, in fact - if you're going to count the Giants (as you should), you have to count the Devils. For me you can add 5 more (baseball) championships, two basketball championships (I will omit the Nets' ABA championship), and of course 1 more Super Bowl, giving a total of 26 NY metro area championships - about 1 every two years.
I think this is so. With rehab, he'll recover from this, but his game will never be 100% again. He'll always have to subconciously take that split second to check out what's happening to the pocket around him before planting that left leg and letting it fly.
Honestly, the worst part about the injury is the Jets don't get a chance to rock the patriots at full strength. Say what you will, and I will always take a win, but beating the patriots with tom Brady would be a hell of a lot more impressive then without.
I totally agree. I wanted them whole... the 18-1 team entirely intact, and I wanted to beat them in our house "fair and square" just to let them know their dynasty is in decline, even with Brady. But I'll certainly take a win Sunday if we can get it. Now, the only thing that would come even close to giving me the complete satisfaction of beating them with Brady at the helm would be to have it unfold as per Champ's wishful thinking: A good, solid trouncing, something like 38-13. Now THAT would go a long way to making me forget Brady's absence.
First of all....be more specific....are you one of those Mets AND Yankees fans? Islanders AND Rangers? Giants AND Jets? I'm a Boston fan...Red Sox, Celtics, Pats and Bruins. Name your team, and name the rings.
You said NEW YORK. That pretty much is wide open. Jets and Yankees. Only 2 NY teams I root for...therefore, I can still say 6.
This is incorrect in the extreme, in my opinion. We will see the results on Sunday. As I have said elsewhere, this may be the hardest game we have to play all year. on Sunday nite.
You are both right and I alluded to that earlier in this thread. I would much rather be playing NE a few weeks from now that this week. They will all be gung-ho trying to play as a team to make up for Brady's loss..etc..etc..etc...where in a few weeks they will have given up.
Umm its only a costly draft pick if the Jets have a good season. If the Jets have to send the Packers their first i think most Jet fans would be pretty happy. Yeah we just got by a piss poor Miami Dolphin team but in week 1 its all about winning the game more so then in any other week. Obviously its always about winning but on opening week you care less how you do it. Favre is still learning the playbook as well. He as well as the Jets are only going to get better as the season goes.
Now I don't know enough about knee injuries but it was his plant foot was it not? Wouldn't that have some type of effect on the way he threw the ball and recovered.
it was the foot he plants with to step and throw. Injuries do affect you - I have an achillies rupture that has made me think twice about making any quick movements in any sport I play. Fuck soccer, its full of quick movements, i can't play it never could. But on a court or field, I can't make a quick cut anymore, i'm now a downhill running/through the paint kind of guy. Brady won't be the same mentally.
