We went on the road and beat an improved Dolphins team that has a QB that knows our defense as well as anyone. And we did with a team that should probably still be wearing "Hello! My name is..." tags. I mean, it looks like they're drawing up plays in the dirt out there. And people are still unhappy about the win? Give me a break. Every year teams look rusty in the beginning of the year. This is a good football team that should improve every week. Now, on to the Patsies!!!
Agree Sir! A good game by both sides of our team. There is cause for concern, but not reason for outright whining. Even Don was happy hmy: Its a good day to be a Jet fan.
Yeah I expected some nit-pickings...But this was bad. Going on the road in a "rivalry" game with lots of new faces at key positions and lots of question marks for that matter. a QB who was signed a month ago to go with it. I would of liked a comfortable win, but when your average at best kicker goes down and playcalling got a little too conservative...To come out with a win? I'm happy.
Jets fans are whiners, if I have learned anything from being on this board for 4 years it is that win or lose there will be someone whining about something.
C'mon big T. You know how they do around here.... The Only thing I was upset about was the Ball-less call to close out the game. Other than that there should be no actual complaints on this game. IMO.
It never amazes me the high number of whiners on this message board! At times they are truly sickening. They complain about the play calling at the end of the game as being too conservative even though they were pinned deep in their zone. Of course if the Jets had tried something aggressive and turned over the ball and lost the game then they would have complained about that! It really gets ridiculous sometimes.
People have high expectations and expected this game to not even be as close as it was and the fact the coaching staff almost lost the game for us, causes room for concern. Even though it was a win, this wont cut it against the better teams. Alot of us realists are looking at the long haul. This season is probably the most hyped up season we've had in quite some time and now if Brady is out for the season (possibly), we should have a real shot at taking our first division crown since the Vinny years. People are going to vent and comment when they see the same crap they saw during the Hackett years.
In defense of the whiners(myself included) this is where you go to talk about your team good or bad. Here in SC i no longer have Jet fans to vent to anymore so this is where i come. Thats what a MB is for no? But now that i have calmed down my complaints are gone and i am happy with the W
It is just the assholes whining. I was at the game and really happy about it. The Jets had no kicker and/or field position and overcame all that and won. But lets whine about the team getting a little gassed in the end by having to play in the 6th layer of hell.....................geez enjoy a fucking win people. When you bang your wife or girlfriend do you people complain about how long it took?
Me and a few others have ALWAYS complained about Herm's conservative BS. Mandongle Wasn't conservative year 1 but Year 2 and now this year it's the same shit. I'm not going harp on it cause we won and you shouldn't question a winning decision EXCEPT for the fact that it has been a losing decision for us for Many years now.. Funny, Just now in watching the Cle Dal game Cle Stopped Dallas and got he ball @ the 50. They went Run, Run, 3rd&3-Fade pass, Punt...Sound Familiar? Dallas got the ball Back and on their 3rd and 3 hit a TE over the middle then proceeded to drive down the Field for a TD. We just Needed a 1st...
No reason for outright whining. Nitpicks here and there are understandable and should be expected, regardless of the game's outcome. However, I'm still very happy that we won. Another thing going under the radar is how good pretty much every single offseason acquisition looks. Pace and Jenkins were beastly on defense, Favre was great until the playcalling got conservative, and Faneca and Woody were very solid in different areas, sans one dumb penalty by Woody.
We have reason to whine. It was an ugly win. Had we lost the game, it would have been totally unacceptable. An ugly win against a team like Miami is very concerning to say the least.
No kicker. Game one. Lots of new parts to both our O and D. A win is a win and I'm glad we got one. I'll worry about how good the wins look later and just enjoy them for now.
