Lowery and Revis will allow the Jets defense to excel this year and dominate opponents. Another question mark is resolved. Go Jets!
But the playcalling sucked and we were in prevent defense. Who cares how good they looked, we as Jets fans can not enjoy a victory in absolutely unbearable conditions.
Lowery does not look like a rookie. You just cannot teach that ball-hawking instinct. You either have it or not.
His instincts and reaction time are just incredible. And for a guy who was knocked for his speed, he closes in on players very fast.
our 1 and 2 CBs are set for the next decade... and thankyou raiders for taking tyvon branch!!! we wouldve never traded down if he was available
I think I mentioned this in the game thread... Revis is pretty much as good as it gets. He was beaten one time, when he was playing off, and giving up the underneath route today. He is as close to a shutdown CB as you're going to see in the NFL. That means that Lowery is going to develop at a lightning pace- because QBs simply aren't going to want to throw Revis' way, and Lowery's going to get a lot of chances very early. So far so good
all we need as a FS and we are set in the secondary. And like I stated earlier, a pass coverage MLB to take over for Barton when he digresses, and a DE for Ellis for the same reasons. We have the makings of a top 3 defense for a while if we can keep this up.
The Phins receivers were really shut down completely. Pennington had to constantly look to his TEs indicating that it was the LBs who need to smooth some things out coverage-wise. Granted Ginn and Bess are not exactly Ocho Cinco and Houshmandzadeh but they were really invisible.
We know Revis is rally good and Lowery looks good but keep in mind Miami doesn't have good WRs so he'll be matched up w/ much better WRs going forward. I like what I see buit he'll still have some ups and downs.
Lowery was terrific in this game, nothing less. Revis played his ass off, as did Hollywood, for the most part. What bothered me was Fasano -- I think this TE caught eight (8) passes!! Between the LBs and the Safeties, this guy got lost. Also, Fasano is not a Pro Bowl TE either. Not cool.
It was a pleasure watching those two yesterday. Great early opportunity to see just how good they are against Moss and company.
I think we were very lucky that Lowery?s first game was against Chad. Every other QB/OC combination in the League would have tried to hit the deep one with Ginn on the 4th Round Rookie-CB with 4.6 speed. If only if it?s to keep him guessing and away from the outs.
Miami has a player in Bess (I think his name is Bess. #15?) He looks like a real find to me. Anyway, Lowry seemed dominant to me yesterday, but Revis was teh true dominant CB yesterday. Man, that kid is ready to play.
Very true. The kid looked great yesterday, but will have a very tough test no matter who's throwing the ball for the pats. Revis was very veyr good. If he plays like that all season he should be an all pro. What a shame we wasted extra picks to jump up and get him. Stupid decision by our FO there.
