I think we all agree that Favre should just let this go already...but if what Favre said is true in regards to what i bolded in the article...that's quite a low blow from Ted Thompson....no wonder Favre was hell bent on playing for a NFC North rival.

EDIT: shit..the Thread title should read "Details of Favre's visit WITH Ted Thompson....sorry fellas...my bad.

    Favrenstein,

I have to tell you that I have mixed emotions regarding you educating the fans on the truth. For three years now I watched TT slowly push Brett out the door through various means (No I won't list them for the TT apologists, do your own research, the starting post is just but one example).

I love the fact that your educating the fans that had no need to follow this situation close enough to realize that "present Packer management" was to blame (plain and simple) but on the other hand, man I am just ready to move on and forget about the TT nightmare in Green Bay.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the post because those who are curious should know the truth, good job.

For myself, TT is nothing but a very bad memory. From now on it's:

J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS and GO Brett GO !!!

Bummer. I was really hoping all parties would keep things to themselves and move on. Let the Packers be Packer and the Jets be the Jets. This he-said-she-said will leaving no one a winner. If Brett's not careful the NY media will start making fun of him about this, they are merciless IMO.

It's an interesting extra tidbit, but probably not appropriate to go into my thoughts of what it means here.

I wish Favre would just accept the fact that he's a JET now, not a Packer.

This is why people are so upset over the trade. Ted Thompson is a fucking douchebag. I don't understand how you kick arguably one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game out the door after a 4155 yard 13-3 28 td year. 13-3 on a team that didn't have a fucking running back until mid season.......

    Crazy shit.

id like to think after hearing some people bash him for see sawing on the retirement issue hes going to give some blurbs like this to let people know exactly why he was so butt sore over his treatment in green bay.

if what this article says is true thats literally mind boggling.

Favre held that organization hostage for the last three offseasons. They decided they had enough, and moved on. He needs to move on too.

This backroom he said he said is pathetic.

Brett needs to focus on leading the Jets to a good season. It makes you wonder if he's just sticking around to prove he really wanted to play, so he'll look like the injured party.

It doesn't make me wonder that. I am sure he wants to play.

This ESPN article on the interview with reporters flows better:

He sounds happy to be a Jet to me.

Favre conveniently forgets to mention that McCarthy talked to him in March as they were making their plans for the NFL draft if he had changed his mind, and he hsaid no.

I hope this is the last retelling of Bretts so sad ordeal. The guy is going to QB a team with a good line and top RB behind him and good receivers. The Packers did him a favor. He's on a better team than he left (though the road is easier in the NFC)

He shares an awful lot for a guy who wants to leave the past in the past.

Oh well it's G.B.'s loss. Our gain. A player of his caliber should be able to flip flop whenever the fuck he wants about retirement. I'm sure he will do it at the end of this year too.

    Exactly Coach K,

The Man is happy to be a Jet and will give you 110 % but Brett has always been honest to a fault so I am not surprised that he will defend himself on this issue considering the ignorance that is still out there regarding how he got screwed by Packer management. His focus is the Jets, he's still just understandably pissed. The bonus for Jets fans (ironically) is that Brett seems to play better when pissed. This year, Brett will be coming to play with an extra chip on his shoulder !!

    J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS !!!

Hey! How come you Favreheads aren't jumping all over each other, calling each other trolls and demanding that you post this shit on a Packer board instead of dragging it into the Jets board? Or do y'all only get indignant and self-righteous about that when people are supporting Thompson instead of bashing him? Interesting to see the hypocrisy here, although not at all surprising.

This is the tip of the Iceburg. the details go much deeper think about it.

2005-lets his interior linemen on both sides go intentionally to get him hurt.
2006-disregards marriuci who is like the most sought after coach in the league and Farve friendly
2007-does not sign moss and takes away our superbowl and gives the MVP to Brady
2008-give away our superbowl again by finally completing his plan to oust Farve and make it "his team"

I am a Packer fan but will not support them again until current management is gone. They cheapned our franchise, they destroyed what I held dear. Packer fans and the Packers themselves WERE special. Not anymore, now we are just as petty and self motivated as anyone else. the image we hold up in green bay is a scam. A thinly vield illusion that we all bought into. There is no "family" there is nothing special here. Just another football team.

Maybe that was my mistake, I believed it, I believed in our fans, I believed in Loyalty, Family.

    My mistake.

Hopefully Farve sill show them the mistake they made and you guys can benifit from it. Hats off to your management, this guys will bleed for you. win or lose he is gonna be there for you with his whole heart.

I truly wish the Jets a spectacular season. Cothery and Coles are better than Jennings and driver. They just needed a better QB. Get ready for some fun guys, it is gonna be a ride.

and about all this "he chokes in the playoffs" BS. The only reasons we lost most of those games is because no one else stpped up and made a play. If youa re to win championships and big games you cannot rely on one player. It has to be one, two, or three starts to make a big play to win those games. The NFC championship game was a microcasim of this dynamic. Farve threw an 80 yard tuchdown in that game so his "big play" was made. Who else made a "big play" in that game. no one stpped up and made the other play or two we needed. The pick at the end was unfortunate but if ANYONE else made a big play in that game in support of the TEAM we would have had it won easy. IT TAKES MORE THAN ONE GUY TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Please tell us this is some sort of bizarre joke. Please. Please reassure us that you're just kidding here, before the Jets fans totally write off all of us Packer fans as a bunch of lobotomized glue-sniffing teenagers.

I don't know. Maybe not. I honestly think a big part of the reason he went back and forth so much the last few years was that he just doesn't like Thompson. If he has a good season in New York, he may very well end the year looking forward to coming back. It's hard to say, but I really wouldn't be surprised if a year playing for a solid, up-and-coming team like the Jets, for a coaching staff he likes and a front office that makes him feel as appreciated as he seems to need to feel, just rejuvenates the guy and puts some of the kid back in him.

Good point. Most new guys have said that the camaraderie is second to none on this team. Thats why even Favre has been surprised how he's liked it here so much.

believe what you wish this was a deliberate and methodical campaign to oust him from the day ted arrived. that 4-12 year started with the loss of his line, then Green got hurt because of it and they lost the run game and it just deteriorated from there. then came the retirement talk, management could have quashed this from the begining but instead chose to sit back and let it fester. Just fits into the plan. you have to make him play at a sub par level and then take his credibilty to oust him. Ted is a genious really, just an evil one in this respect.

Intentional, deliberate, and methodical I saw the whole thing unfold right in front of me.

That about sums it up for me, all the other crap aside. I might add, also the youngest team too.

That arm still one of the best!

We will just have to see how good Grant and the O-line are, without Favre under center, how many YACs the receivers get. I suspect the talent may not be as great as some Packer fans believe.

Jet fans, you now have a player that will improve the entire team, you are not too spoiled to appreciate him. Down with the Cheatriots, AFC East champions, J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!!!
