Too bad this kid hurt himself that badly. He was entertaining. I agree with stinky on the cutting of depth players. Unless the W.R. is a truly special player then there is no point.
Well that is IF the vet is contributing. I am sure the drop off from Ellis to his backup is probably quite slight if none at all. The same goes for Canyon on the other side. Barrett can easily be dropped & nothing will be missed. That will give us the cap room to sign him. In the FB biz you have to be creative & supposedly Man & Tan are super whiz bangs which should make it easy for them to figure out how to get him under our cap. Next year the cap will rise again I saw numbers like 10M which wil make it easy to fit him in under next years cap also
Is he coming off an injury? He only played 12 games last year. They only have,Current Estimated Cap Space: $2,579,429
No he wants out of Ariz because he is making less then Fitzgerald & the Cards are refusing to give him a new contract
He was hurt weeks 4-6 so no, he isn't coming off an injury. Yes, it would take creative financing to get the cap room to sign him.
This statement adds more to my belief that you really do not watch football games. Canyon, aka Kenyon Coleman was one of maybe 4 bright spots for the entire D last year. Playing next to the Turd he was still able to perform above-expectations and was easily the best player on the DL last year. Maybe you don't know the FB Biz as well as you profess to.
Well that shows how fans see players in a different lights. Sorry to say IMHO you are way, way, way, way, over estimating KC talent & abilities. In the NFL also go with adage if you have a DE that is above average you never/ever allow them to move to another team
The stats and his gameplay speak for themselves. How am I overrating a guy whom everyone else also applauded? You act as if I was trying to sell David Barrett as being our savior based upon last year's gameplay. IMHO U R WAYYYY off in yer evaluatshun of the guy. There's another adage which says that if you are stacked in a position or the salary cap doesn't allow for you to keep the player, that you have to let them go.
There's no way in hell we bring Boldin in. If they hadn't garaunteed Coles' salary for '08 and '09 maybe they could trade him and a pick for Boldin.
The stats mean zero sorry to say & you sound just like NY Junc with that remark. No I not saying U R trying to sell me DB & one more time IMHO you are totally over estimating KC talent & ability. He could go away & nobdoy would miss him. The drop down from him to his backup is hardly anything & to acquire a player of Boldon statue to combine with BF is certainly worth it again IMHO Then using ur adage the Boys thought he was not as good as the player then kept over him.
It's impossible to reason with someone who's so simple-minded. I said stats AND gameplay! If you watched the games last year, and I'm convinced that you didn't, you'd notice that Coleman was definitely a force on the line and did much better than the supporting cast around him. 3-4 DE's are not supposed to rack up sacks and tackles like 4-3 DE's, yet he still did quite well for himself. If he goes away how is nobody going to miss him? Don't you think that the dropoff from a guy like Coleman to a guy like DeVito would be considerable? No, of course you don't- which again adds more fuel to the argument that you really aren't a fan who watches the games, just a senile old man who likes nothing more than to bitch to a bunch of strangers in "AOL Speak."
Sorry if we have widely differenting opinions of KC. Mine is he just a very, very average DE. Nothing special. A dime a dozen player in the NFL. To me Boldin is far better player to invest in. Certainly not a journeyman player or just average. If you do not see it that way fine. BTW in closing your argument sounds just what the JV defenders said & the CP defenders said & the DeW defenders said while they were NYJs. KC is just a journeyman player that can easily be replaced no matter if you chose to accept that or not
I agree with the bolded part. I don't understand why some fans have an issue with Coleman's play last season. He was very consistent. I guess a lot of people are looking at the sacks. In a 3-4 DE's don't have to make sacks. It's nice if they do, but their job is to keep OL off the LB's and hold the point of attack. Coleman did that very nicely
I think the Jets will likely put Clowney on PUP to start the season. With Coles at risk for IR due to concussion, I think having Clowney on the roster for the second half of the season would be smart. Even if he couldn't play until the 10th game.
So just how badly do we need another receiver to make the Favre acquisition worthwhile? Coles is a head case at best and a concussion away from retirement at worst. Cotchery looks good and Keller will make a good tweener but what else do we really have to keep the defenses honest?
Please back up your statement with something more than just that- how is Coleman just average? What in his gameplay last year adds some meat to your argument? For instance, you can say that Miller is an average to below average CB. I'll back up the statement with the fact that he's a poor tackler in space, makes way too many mental mistakes and is penalty-prone. Do the same for Kenyon Coleman. If you're going to step up to the alter do something besides preach the same nonsense time in and time out. So you're denying that you're a senile old man who types in "AOL speak?"
Too bad on Clowney. I was really enjoying watching him. At this point they better keep him because somebody would snatch the guy up quickly if released. Personally, he was unexpected this year. Reminded me a bit of Chrebet's "Coming out party" a little; but, Chrebet was a UFA which is even more amazing. At any rate I hope Clowney can come back in late September or October.
