Well the NFLN is great to keep up to the doings of other teams since they replay the xhibition games. I watch some of that Pats/Bucs game last nite on the NFLN & the Pats D looked like they aged 100 years in the 6 months that have past since the GPC in the SB
I can't really disagree with Peter King - or a majority of the posters. What have the Jets fans really done to help improve their reputation? The entire Chad debacle last year, along with titty-gate really shined a bad light on a slice of Jet Nation that's not exactly a fitting sample of our demographic. But then again, that's how it works...
You think we are any different than fans anywhere else? Look at the ads if you want a clue about the fans of the NFL. Booze and drugs most of which are to designed to give drunk middle age men erections. Based on the demographics that NFL sponsors seem to be targeting, I really don't see the complaint.
I have never been to a Jet Pre-season game. Granted we only had to start buying the tickets recently. We have had the tix since Shea 1970. Other than on this board I have never spoke or knew a Season Ticket Holder that went to the Pre-season Games. I do always either sell or give my tix away. With that being said, I am going to my first Presaeon game On Sat vs. the Giants, not because of Favre, but because I am taking my daughter to her first game.
The NFLN is the best thing SSB. I watched the Jets pre-season games like three times already. I've never been so tuned in. That's good about NE. And they just picked up Lynch keeping in with the old man tradition. Hopefully they will turn out to be like a Cincinnati. All offense no defense.
half full preseason games have nothing to do with the reputation of Jet fans. It's all very simple to me..........those of us who are season ticket holders and have been rooting for this team for 20+ years...........are a pretty cynical group.......and we have good reason to be. most of us are also pretty footbal savvy and know that preseason games are not a must see. We have families/responsibilites etc and dissappearing on Sundays during the fall and winter are enough............no excuse to be taking off on summer Saturday nights too. as far as ther Gate D shit and boooing Chad......thats mostly from the element of fans who get to the games via stub hub, ticket exchange ot just bought them from a season tik holder, or just scalp......they have no stake/interest in how their behavior impacts the experience.....they are there for 1 or 2 games a aseason, get piss drunk and don't care who they offend or puke on...and sadly, ruin the rep of most fans the Jets brought that shit on themselves by moving to giants stadium in the first place, and they are trying to rid themselves of that headache thru PSL's end of rant
First off, it was more like 3/4 full. Second, the hell you suffer through getting there and into the stadium causes this 3/4 full kickoff. Third, the response he got was by far louder than any preseason game this year period. Fourth, Peter King can take his coffee-breath stinkin ass back to his kneepad under belicheats desk and finish blowing him like he has been since he joined the pats. King sucks ass.
yeah I think it's ironic King has anything to say about this..it's like the fans aren't blowing Favre as much as the media does, and this upsets King... I mean we are all fairly happy he's here.......but we're not bowing to him just yet. The media worships this guy
yea Jet fans suck because the stadium wasnt packed for a pre season game.... until all the teams pay for PSLs i dont want to hear no body saying certain fans are better than others.....its not a even playing field... hes a hater... theres always gonna be NY haters in the media bc the majority of of the US is NY haters... so the people not from NYtend to love these NY hating media fucks .... like Joe Buck or whatever his name is... biggest Yankee hater
Try $120 in my section. Times 4 seats. Plus parking. You're talking $500 for four people for a scrimmage with 1st teams on the field for about 15 minutes. SundayJack is right, it's a real racket. Besides, preseason games for me are much better at home in front of the TV where I can really study what the new guys are doing. Preseason's are the one game (for me) that I can honestly say I get more out of by watching on TV than I do actually being there.
I have to Chime in here 1st Myth- Anyone who says "JETS fans cheered" when Chad got hurt Is totally misinfored, wasn't at the game, Listens and Believes everything the Media puts out. Why? Because anyone at the game will tell you. The stadium was At LEAST.. 30% Patriot Jerseys. That is a lot of cheering when he gets hurt. I'm sure there may have been an Idiot fan or 50 but no, the JETS fans Did Not Cheer. 2nd Myth. -Jets Ticket holders are Giants fans who couldn't get tix. Really? I mean, REALLY. You actually believe that BS? Wow. Just WOW. 3rd Myth. Jets fans have "something to do" on Preseason games or Gameday. Yeah ok. Not going to say "Oh you're not a real fan" shit but come on. If anyone bleeds green you get to the game. You circle your calendar. You get there. Period. No way 35k People convieniently all have "Something to do" only during the preseason or a regular season game. Yes, the parking is a pain but deal with it. And trying to make a profit on a Brett Favre preseason game? *Shakes Head*. I know 2 posters on this board had something to do and STILL got to the game. While I'm not going to sit here and say P.King duck's (My nickname 4 him) is 100% right. He does have many valid points but at the same time, he put in ZERO thought to what the fans have to deal with. People, you paid for your tix. You love the Jets. Get to the fukin games! -E0R
1)c'mon man r u serious? i was at that game, ther were definitely some Jets fans cheering the Chad injury in my section alone...........I'm sure there were more throughout the stadium 2)the Jets proably have the highest percentage of "non Jet fans" holding season tickets in the NFL......again the nauture of the move from Shea to GIANTS Stadium...why do you think there are ALWAYS soo many opposing team fans at games.......i mean any game, not just the Fins or the Pats ( few years ago i was surrounded by Lions fans when they were in town....Lions Fans!! 3) it's an effin preseason game, and it's the effin summertime.........If I had absolutely niothing else to do, I'd maybe go to the preseason games..maybe! I went to a Jets Giant preseason game a few years back and was asking myself, WTF are you doing here....it was fun, for about a quarter
I disagree w/ you. First off it WAS Jet fans cheering when Chad got hurt, I don't think they were cheering b/c he was hurt just that the jets were being blown out and they wanted to see Clemens even though Chad was one of the few players playing decently. As far as #2 goes, I HATE going to preseason games. I have been to a handful in my life and most of them were before I went to every reg season game. When they count I'll be there and I don't blame anyone for not wanting to go to preseason games even if it was favre's first game. I wasn't going to watch a guy take 15 snaps.
There are nearly as many oppposing fans at Giant games, we live in an area w/ alot of transplants and alot of fans of other teams and they get their hands on tickets through various sources. It's EASY to get tickets to jets or giants games on an individual basis and plenty of teams have more opposing fans at their games including one in our division down south. SD had to require fans buy tickets to multiple games to stop Bronco and Raider fans from buying up their tickets. When we are good that place is 95% Jet fans, when we stink opposing fans help fill it up from ticket holders who sell their tickets.
fair enough i suppose, but I always feel there are more opposing fans at Jets games than at Giant games
Traffic was very light. The LIE moved very well, no delays at the Midtown, moved right through the city, 5 minutes getting onto the Lincoln, and no trouble on the NJTP.
