to see him that comfortable after only working with the offense for a short time is pretty reassuring
Anybody ever think he was trying to comfort Clemens. He spent so much time on his ass or upside down that when he looked over at Favre he thought he was smiling.
Favre can make the whole offense seem better than they actually are. Anyone see Aaron Rodgers get sacked 4 times in the first half last night against SF? Could be wrong, but think BF sacked 15 times all last year. Same line as last year. We didn't even pretend to run the ball first half last year, he still won.
No I think you might have misunderstood. I agree gotta be able to score points. But I would take and average offense with a great D rather than Average D with great Offense...
I'm on the Brett Favre bandwagon. He'll make the team much better this year. Having said that, I'd rather the team not traded for him because it'll be like Joe Montana with the Chiefs. He gave them some great games but they didn't win the Super Bowl. I don't think we'll even get as far as the Chiefs did with Montana though. I think ultimately all this did was move us down in the draft and lose us a draft pick in the Favre trade. Plus now we'll get to go through the same offseason will I/won't I retire crap the Packers had to go through each of the last 3 years.
Agreed ? I just think that our offense has been so putrid for so long that it?s difficult to determine how good or bad our defense really has been. It should be a pretty fun season?the first three games will definitely set the pace. Miami wont be a pushover having our entire playbook, New England is still the best team in football until I see otherwise and then a west coast trip to San Diego which of course in German means a whale's vagina. I think if we can start 2 & 1 we are in really good shape.
Better to go through that than the "Who is the best out of the shitty quarterback competitions every preseason"
Oh thanks lol. Yours is hysterical dude. I hate Eli Manning so much. It's not that hes terrible. Just the look of him annoys me.
Agreed We havent had either these last few years...on a side note . I see you live in Tampa. Hillsborough still filthy as ever. I remember the water bein orange. They told us at school if we got any in a cut to get to a doctor. Too funny
Wow just wow................I really do not know why I am answering this nonsensical post but WTF: Ihavenoclueaboutsarcasm.com
I like that quote. Not on a bandwagon. Favre is 38 (going to be 39) years old. Dont care what he does this season. Where are we next year, and the one after. Lets just hope Ratliff can continue impressing.
Nay-Sayers about Brett and how he impacted this game are short-sighted, and forgetful. Does ANY pre-season game REALLY illustrate much ??? His reputation LONG precedes him !!!! He's playing because he LOVES the game -- and will work just as hard -- and will make points just as much -- as he did with the Packers. It's in his nature !!! Colors of his uniform are irrelevant. He commits, he does the job.
I agree with everything except the 'bold' part of your post. A preseason game does'nt mean anything towards the NFL season. But it certainly does illustrate alot, especially for the starters. Usually, starters are facing starters for as long as they are in the game so it gives you an idea of what your team is capable of and what it can do. The only thing is, you only get to see about 2 or 3 drives of the starters, not significant but still a more realistic view of where your teams stands after the off season acquisitions and losses.
I'm on the bandwagon for sure. Before, I thought we could win 10-11 games this year with Chad at QB, so why bring in Favre? After seeing the throws Favre made last night I came to this conclusion: even though a smart mind with a weak arm is better than a weak mind with a strong arm, there's nothing better than a QB with both the arm and the smarts. If the QB has the smarts and accuracy to put the ball where it needs to be (sorry, Kellen), the faster it gets there the less chance there is for something going wrong (sorry, Chad). On those throws last night, I could have seen some defenders being able to close in while the ball is in the air and causing problems if Chad was the QB. So yeah, at this point I'm quite encouraged.
