An article was written about that a while back, how Belichick's defenses can be considered overrated, and its been the QB and K play that has saved their asses.

Lynch will be better than a backup player they put out there, but he won't be the impact player he once was.

They will have the oldest safety tandem in the league if they put Lynch and Harrison out there at the same time. I know thats not going to be the norm, but just sayin.

    Pats sign Pro Bowl safety

John Lynch - hardest hitting safety in the NFL - is a Patriot.

Jets WRs will have to watch themselves over the middle 2x a year against Lynch and Harrison...

Thanks for the info. Just a reminder anything non jets related goes into the NFL general area of the forums.

Can we please re-name this thread "Pats sign another over the hill vet on defense". He is coming off his worst season last year (him making the pro bowl just goes to show you what a sham it is) and isn't getting any younger. He doesn't have the speed anymore to keep up with guys like Coles and Keller, so as far as I'm concerned this is a great signing.

I think this counts as Jets related. It's not the Seahawks, it's not the bears, IT'S THE PATS!
we play them TWICE a year and they are our biggest rival.

Anybody think this is possibly a reaction to the Favre trade? You know how BB hates the Jets.

I would think its more of a run protection move since he has apparently lost a step.

BTW what is with the farmers tan Brett has in your avatar :)

No, it's not how it's always been. Time was, anything Jets related could be talked about in this forum. <sigh> Those were the days.

It's kind of annoying to not be able to talk about something like this here. I rarely (never) visit any of the other forums - only the Jets one. A lot of people do the same.

That being said, I understand the logic of it, I just find it kind of annoying and anal.

I'm envisioning Clowney running past the old Pats secondary right now!

My "rebuilding the Jets franchise" thread that took me forever to make has been moved from this forum to the Draft forum.

Why don't they just stab it through the heart?

no, it doesn't count as Jets related just because we play them twice a year. if what our competition does is Jets news just because we play them, that would count for every team on our schedule because those games are just as important and what those teams do will have just as much an impact on our season. so, by your logic, the Jets forum should be for every team we play. what's the point then of even having a Jets forum and an NFL forum.
