That Bosko post really happened. LOL @ the Pats fans post to it. And WTF is this fetish for talking about Chad Pennington? He's a guy who *could* have been the best QB in franchise history. This is still a man who came back from an injury that *no other QB* has come back from in the NFL and QB'd a playoff team. He was AMAZING in 2002, and it's really sad the injuries and this franchises idiocy has turned so many people against him. I mean the guys gone now...who cares? He never became what he should have been because his friggin shoulder got torn to shreds. Shit happens. Shoulder injuries are a bitch in a half to anyone trying to throw a ball at a pro level. He's a coulda/woulda/shoulda, but WTF is the point of hating him for that?
So when he QB'd us to a 10-6 record, a playoff appearance, a playoff win on the road, and VERY nearly a second playoff win on the road -- that didn't mean anything? Interesting.
Well...no, it didn't. Look, I know we're all proud of that 10 win season, but the fact is that was all smoke and mirrors....and awesome special teams. The '06 team won in spite of Chad Pennington, not because of him. There was a reason why, entering the 2006 training camp, Chad Pennington was in a three way competition with the newly drafted Kellen Clemens and the supremely forgettable Patrick Ramsey.
But if Favre leads us to the same thing this year the same people will all be juicing in their underwear and crying when he retires again.
