Koz - you just convinced me. We should cut him and pick up Koren Robinson. THAT would be the final piece of our win now approach.

It's not just Brad Smith, It's Brian Schottenheimer and his shtick.

I agree, but how is this Henry? Has he shown anything yet? Perhaps he could be replaced with Koren Robinson.

(I know I know, you're sticking to your story)

If Schotty shtick is deep routes that Clowney ran, but instead its Favre to Coles, I like his shtick.

    That doesn't sound right...

I agree with most of what you say up to the last sentence. He was a starter in the first pre-season game. So as of Thursday Stuckey, Clowney, Wright, Henry and anyone else not named Coles or Cotchery were behind him on the depth chart.

It would take some real bad play on his part throughout the next couple of weeks to drop that far on the depth chart, won't it?

I also think receivers can develop in terms of route running, reading defenses, blocking, understanding ins and outs of the playbook, etc ... I just don't believe you can learn to catch better. People have told me you can, I just have a hard time believing it. This is probably what you meant by you either have it or you don't though.

See above about the 3rd spot. I would love to see these other guys starting above him too. I wouldn't want to flat out release Smith though. His ST skills are better than Wrights IMO. He's a very solid ST'r.

I'm with you completely. In my opinion, Brad Smith is the MOST OVERRATED player on this board. People here never shut the fuck up about him but he doesn't really do a whole lot. The fact of the matter is, people here are in love with the CONCEPT of Brad smith. (i.e. A jack of all trades utility weapon who we can line up anywhere and can burn the defense with all sorts of innovative trick plays - kordell stewart, Antwan Randle El, etc, etc) The problem is, he doesn't actually embody that concept very effectively at all. He doesn't have great hands, he doesn't have gamebreaking speed (he has average speed for a WR), he is only somewhat elusive, and he isn't particulary big or strong. I realize that he is still young and could still become a more consistent threat, however, so far he has not lived up to the hype at all.

I think Smith (who I'm not the biggest fan of) would make a good 3rd down WR. Hes tough and smart. He still has to find his best position.

I think Brad Smith should be switched to Cornerback. That is where Wr's that can't catch end up anyway. If he had problems with Pennys passes he is going to look like he is chasing hand grenades trying to catch Farve.
