Has anyone heard the latest on Fireman Ed. I have searched the net for the latest on our team mascot but have found very little. Is he still injured? Will he be leading the J-E-T-S chant this year? Can he afford to buy the PSL for his seat at the new stadium?
These are all important questions that need to be answered...

I have heard many on this site and others report that he's a dick and wouldn't be missed.

Are you sure he was the reason it wasn't the same? Possibly it could have been the 4-12 record. Its not easy to watch a team that plays unwatchable football.

I go to one game a year, and after drinking in the parking lot for 4 hours, I want to hear the Jets chant. and I want to cheer my ass off. Sick of the negative shit, if you don't want to cheer for your team give up your season tickets. That way, I wouldn't have to pay $300 bucks a seat on e-bay!! :jets:

I have said it before and I will say it again...

My family knows Ed on a personal level and the guy was legit hurt. We go to all the home games and he wasn't there for ANY of them.

So to say it was because the Jets sucked last year is ignorant and not even close to the truth.

Half the guys who bash Fireman ed are just jealous. He is a jet fan all the way.

Fireman ed is missed dearly and we need him to lead the J-E-T-S chants. If you say otherwise you are a damned fool. The Jets chant was miserable last season.

For the jets sake, if I was you, I would hope he comes back.

if someone would just teach the flag girls the chant, we'd be all set, especailly when they climb on top of each other to do it. a lil girl on girl at the 50 yd line would not suck.

They will probably try doing that, but it just won't be the same...I can promise you that. Even when they had that stupid "Jets Chant Cam" it did SQUAT.

I did not mean any offense to Ed, but it was hard to have a great atmosphere at Giants Stadium last year.

    1. No Fireman Ed
    2. The team was not good.
    3. The fans were terrible.
    4. Some did not even show up until the middle of the second quarter.
    5. The stadium was half empty.

I was just saying his absence was not the only reason things did not feel right.

I can endorse this post. Ed is a really nice guy and a huge "dyed in the wool" fan. I have met him a couple of times, he gives a lot of his time to the Jets as well as being a real Fireman in NY. I suspect some people are jealous of his standing with the Jets organisation. He is sorely missed at games and I hope he is back this year.

Ed needs to come back, but if there are games or a full season where he cannot lead us in the Chants, he needs to appoint someone to do it. Knowing that he gave so and so the job would make it a bigger responsibility. You're leading 60,000+ fans in a chant.

I remember the Oakland game in 06, I was there. He was on the screen and you could read his lips saying "Playoffs!!!" before the kickoff and the JETS chant. It was such a perfect moment created by Ed himself. Thats why I think he needs to be back and respected more by all fans.

if we were winning we may have noticed a difference but I rarely saw him when we were always losing in the early-mid 90s so there weren't very many chants in those bad years. There were probably more last year since they encouraged it from the video boards.

There does seem to be some bitterness towards him for some reason. Ed backed the west side stadium deal, and I think this angered many of the diehard tailgaiters. I understand the attraction of getting hammered in the parking lot, because I do it when I am at a game, but to be pissed off at Ed is totally ridiculous. We need him back...Go Jets:jets:

No way the Jets price out their little mascot Fireman Ed. They will find a way to make that work, and it's total BS if they do.
