Went hiking and then to the Library. I got home a few minutes ago, and yep, my tickets arrived. I was convinced they'd come next weekend while I was away and that they'd get ripped off out of my mailbox. Hey, maybe that wouldn't have been so bad... Anyway, I dumped the contents of that high class manila envelope - you know, the one that costs me a "$4.00 handling fee" - onto the kitchen counter. "Let's take a look here..." Oh, my. I shrieked like hell. The home opener against New England, MANGINI'S FAT FACE IS ON THE TICKET. HAH! Heeee! HAW HAW HAW! Classic. And yes, I'm officially excited. Football...it is almost...HERE!
This is from Bolands blog today No, don't even go there. So about 20 minutes before kickoff of the Green and White practice at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium and there's some dark clouds overhead. The PA announcer just gave the "In the case of severe weather..." announcement but so far we're dry. Of course, I'm in the press box so I will remain as such. Just saying. Pretty good crowd here with fans continuing to come in despite the forecast calling for nastiness. Speaking of nastiness - yeah, that's a bad segue even for me - the Jets will still have PSLs. Jets beat reporters just had a sit-down lunch with Jets owner Woody Johnson and that was among the many topics covered. I'll have more about what he said later, probably in tomorrow's paper, but don't worry - you were, I know - I'll provide a link. Here's a snapshot. On keeping Long Island ties: "We feel very strongly that our DNA, where we come from, is Long Island. These are our most passionate fans. So we are going to come to Long Island and play our practice game from now on." On PSLs (my personal favorite, as FOB (friends of the blog) know: "We will have seat licenses. We understand the feelings of the fans. I think we will understand more next week when the actual surveys come back. We're going to look at the fans' response to the questionaires we sent out, we're going to try to incorporate as many of those ideas into the way we package the PSL program to try to recognize that to be as fan-friendly as we can recognizing the nature of our fans and how long they've been fans and where they've been." I asked the natural follow-up later, saying if Johnson truly was looking at the ideas fans gave in the surveys, he'd see that overwhelmingly they don't want PSLs. He responded that he doesn't feel the Jets have done a good enough job clarifying to fans exactly what they will be getting in return for the prices they'll pay. I'll be interested to see what the Jets come up with at the end of the month when the PSL plan is announced. I was assured the awful "a PSL is like a taxi medallion" metaphor would be scrapped, which is a start.
I like the line about they haven't done a good job explaining what you get with a psl. Seems pretty standard that you get nothing extra due to the fact they are sharing the new stadium.
Report to the Rookie Dorm and stop parking your car in the space marked "Team President." You've obviously pissed somebody off and are in need of redemption.
Heh, heh I guess Woody thinks all us fans are stupid & we do not realize all the good things that will come to us fans from giving Mr. BILLIONAIRE Woody Johnson our money.
section 337, definately not as good as the 331 seats I've been in since 94, but they're mine and as long as I dont get kicked out they should have a low psl
Got em. Just waiting for the girlfriend to open them up. I feel like it's Christmas and I am 7 years old and I creep down at 6am just to stare at the presents.
This is exactly the tact John Mara used in that radio interview on The Fan. He kept saying the fans are going to have to see for themselves how new and great and different the new stadium is and "then they will appreciate what the PSLs are for." In my case, if I were a Giants fan, I'd be looking at $7500 a pop (per ticket) in my Section, plus $400 per game for the ticket price. I've got 4 tickets, so you do the multiplication. All I've got to say is, the new stadium could look like the fucking Taj Mahal and it still wouldn't be worth a $30,000 PSL charge and $1600 per game to me. I really don't know where either of these two arrogant morons get the balls to say stuff like this. Don't they know most Jets fans could give a Shiite less what the fucking stadium looks like? I go there to tailgate, watch a football game and root for my team. I'm not there for the "ambiance" of a 5-star restaurant or to admire the surroundings and architecture. The "added value" of all that is worth about $2.00 per game to me, honest to God... nothing more. It's a football stadium, for Christ's sake. And Mr. Johnson... you're making a HUGE mistake if you think you're getting accurate results from your "polls." If you intend to make a PSL business decision based on the responses you received from those cockamamie, idiotic pols, you're sadly mistaken. The polls that were filled out positively (if there were any) were probably filled out out of fear or as a suck-up. The negative resonses are the honest responses and the ones you really need to pay attention to. I'd also pay attention to HOW MANY NON-RESPONSES you received, because most of us were DISGUSTED, AGGRIVATED and TOO INSULTED to even fill the fucking thing out. Come to think of it, all you really need to do to get a pulse on the situation is to read this message board. These are the honest answers... right here. JETS FANS DO NOT WANT PSLs, PERIOD! UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT! IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT!
I was just curious, when can people post their tickets on the ticketexchange? is it right when you get your tickets or do they make you wait until a certain date?
also does anyone know what the most you can sell them for? I though only 10% over? How are people selling 100 tickets for 300 on stubhub?
