some one not many talk about but, i feel, aside from the blunder in san diego, eric barton wins this award-he is a solid tackler and not bad in coverage. To my understanding he is having a good camp and should be among the benefactors of kris jenkins. Barton is also versatille in that he was solid in not only the 4-3 but also the 3-4, i expect another solid year from my dark horse......who would you pick and why?
He was just lucky, that Clarke and Clement sucked even more than he did last year. He should be damn happy, that noone talkes about him.
Kerry Rhodes. He has been robbed of pro bowl appearances because of other guys name recognition. He is not only the most underrated Jet he is one of the most underrated and under appreciated Stars in the Nfl.
Amongst Jets fans? Definitely Moore. UDFA DT that was part of the O-line that paved the way for '04's leading rusher? The one constant on the O-line since then? If he was such a bad player and a penalty machine, I really doubt he'd still be part of this team.
Brandon Moore by far. The fans hate him for some reason but the guy plays with tremendous leverage and he's been around a while. An offensive line is only as good as it's worst player. Last year we had a left guard and a right tackle that wouldn't have made most nfl teams. I'm very excited to see how much better Moore, Mangold and Brick are with an elite left tackle and a very solid veteran right tackle.
I would say Leon "Boom Boom" Washington. They always say "He's Too small to be an every down back".I disagree!
I agree with Leon Washington. He really is one of the more dangerous players in the league, from what he does on offense to obviously his special teams ability.
I don't know...considering that he's not an every down back, and has been denied the opportunity to claim the job when it's been available, "they" seem to be correct.
What do "they" know? He was voted team MVP last year by his own teammates. I would say he is underrated based on popular NFL opinion vs. what the guys that play with him every day have to say.
He's had 21 penalties since he got his first start on the offensive line in 2004. 12 of them under Mangini. Improved last year though. I wouldn't say he is underrated. He's an average offensive lineman surrounded by a ton of talent. The Jets gave him a six-year, $17.3 million deal through 2013 last year after giving up causing 8 penalties the previous year, so there must be something that they see in him.
